The sober but hyper view

forthright's party was a blast, as these things usually are. He and sorceror weren't as drunk as they were for curtana's party last year, but ipanicked certainly got pickled to the gills, and let me tell you, it was impressive.

Apparently that was only the tip of the iceberg, or so I was told by people who had seen him in various stages of inebriation/besottedness. What I saw tonight was Manic!John, and a bit of Professor!John. There's also Lusty!John, Violent!John, and a number of Other!Johns that I was not privy to tonight, not that I minded overmuch.

I stayed sober, since I was driving. I do not subscribe to the "I'll be fine if I only have one drink" club, as I know that I don't hold my liquor well, so I abstained entirely.

I learned a lot about tequila tonight too, namely that people will spend a lot of money on a drink whose taste they don't like, then use salt and lemon to make it palatable. As far as I'm concerned, I'd rather get drunk on a substance that tastes good. But that's just me.

Much fun was had, gaming stories were told and re-told (I need to game more: I don't have enough new stories to tell ^_-), and then eventually I drove joane and shenlo home.

Will be seeing them at the SCA meeting this Tuesday, which should be fun. :)

Crashing massively now, so I think I'll head to bed. More tomorrow if I'm feeling inspired.

I'm happy to hear about a designated driver who didn't drink!! yeay!!! And you still had fun, too!! woohoo!!!

I don't really mind the taste of tequila - it's strong, but interesting. For me, anyway, the whole point of tequila shots is the ritual surrounding them. It's nice to drink drinks that taste good, but it's just more fun, somehow, to Lick It! Slam It! Suck It! :)

I suppose it also makes a good sobriety test... if you can't do it, then you definitely shouldn't be drinking. ;) Plus you don't really taste it unless you have it without the surrounding taste distractions. Which is why I had at least one straight from each bottle. But yeah, it does taste pretty bad... I'm pretty sure it's either the sheer alcohol content (40% if I remember the labels right) or the surrounding ritual which provides most of the entertainment factor. Must "Lick It! Slam It! Suck It!" with Joane more often. Er... wait... ;)
