Nothing like fresh, warm bread

mousmeYessir, I am back from grocery shopping, and they had fresh bread straight from the oven on sale at $1.75. A huge big loaf with a thin, crisp crust and a moist, marvelous mie. Don't remember what that's called in English right now, my brain has turned to mush because I'm enjoying the bread instead of thinking.
Got myself some different food this time around. Nothing I haven't eaten before, but stuff that isn't my daily fare, while staying within my budget. Go me!
My cats have decided they don't like bread, after begging me to share with them. Ever since the vet told me to feed them scraps I've made a point of offering them small bit of whatever I'm having. If they like it, they can have that small bit and a smidge more. If they don't like it, well, too bad: Mummy gets to eat it all.
Actually, I've discovered they like old Kraft Dinner. Not while it's still warm, but once it's gone cold and hard. Weird. O_o
Spent a nice two hours with AC, who's blooming in Toronto, despite billing anywhere between 60-100 hours each week. Then again, he is still an articling student, so I suppose it's to be expected. He told me about a Horking Big Transaction they're working on these days (in vague terms), which is going apparently for the tune of $7 billion. Yowch! He's very excited to be even on the bottom level of this HBT which is probably going to change the face of banking in Canada in the near future.
We ate at the Commensal, where I hadn't been in years. It's pretty standard stuff, but at least it has a view over McGill College and Ste. Catherine, and we chit-chatted throughout lunch until he finally had to call it quits because his train was leaving soon and he had to buy a birthday gift for his mother.
That was when I went to do my grocery shopping. I'm actually amazed at the people in my neighbourhood: they managed to clean the store out of sliced bread and orange juice before I got there. I've never seen another supermarket where this was the case. Colour me puzzled.
