This is so much longer than I anticipated
Apr. 17th, 2003 07:21 pmYes, well, the Memory Sorting continues unabated, and I have managed to do February and March of 2002, and one or two April posts.
I'm thinking of not doing them all in a big rush, the way I did when making my posts friends-only, because this process is a lot longer. For one, I actually have to read the posts entirely so that I know where to sort them (and create new Memory Headings when I need to), and I've deleted one or two one-liners that no longer mean anything to me (note to self: never do that kind of thing again, you'll never know what you were talking about). End result is that this is taking me about twice as long as the earlier project.
Still, I think it'll be a good thing once it's finished. I am, after all, a pack rat, and there's no use in being a pack rat if I can't refer back to the things I pack-ratted with a certain amount of ease. ;)
I think I may even be getting hungry, but am not sure what to make for dinner. May default to KD again, but am hesitating for the moment. Chances are inspiration will strike.
Oh, and today is officially Day 1 in the Iams Experiment. The idea being to test Iams for eight weeks and see if there's a noticeable difference in your wee beastie in terms of energy, weight and muscle tone as well as improvement in the fur. On the plus side, the FFEs seem to like the Iams better than Whiskas, so at least there's that.

Date: 2003-04-17 06:36 pm (UTC)Boy, do I know how that goes. I reference past posts in comments and other posts really often. I've thought about going through and doing what you're doing, but it's just too big of a job for me. (I currently have 965 posts...) Instead, I've started saving all of my LJ mail. Anytime someone replies to one of my posts or comments, it's saved in a special LJ-specific folder that I archive yearly. Since I can usually remember some identifying feature of any post or comment I'm looking for, and since, oddly enough, most of my posts get at least one comment, I can always search my archived mail for whatever I'm looking for.

My cat loves Iams. I have him on the weight control variety, because Iams original formula is what caused him to balloon out (it apparently has a high amount of corn in it, which can cause some cats to get unusually fat). Since I don't let him outside anymore now that I've got him, he's not quite as active as he used to be. The weight control formula (in a teal-ish bag, or in specially marked cans if you go with wet food) has been perfect for him. The dry food also seems to result in far fewer incidents of "rank litterbox" than some of the other dry foods I tried for him after switching away from Iams original formula. And, since you mentioned it, his coat always gets comments, too. "Such a beautiful cat, and what a lovely, healthy coat!"
Best of luck to you and your wee fur beasties!
