Just got my Bigfoot Mega War Game mailing. Am having conniptions about the prices at which they're selling equipment.
*drools*
Check out this beauty that they're selling for $159.95.
In random news, Xtreme Paintball has decided to be all patriotic and not ship to France. *rolls eyes* Whatever.
Hmm... over here they appear to be on sale for $50 U.S.
fearsclave? Am I going to get ripped off on shipping and handling, or does this seem like a good deal to you? It's almost $75 Canadian cheaper...
I'm also sitting on my hands not to but the PT Xtreme hand gun they have for sale at $179.95, partly because I can't find the exact model on pbreview (Bigfoot don't seem all that big on supplying the manufacturer or exact name on their mail-out), and partly because it would be sheer madness to do that because I don't have enough money to eat, let alone buy paintball gear.
Woe is me! *melodramatic sigh*
I am seriously going to consider the Spyder, though, especially if getting it over the internet proves to be that much cheaper ($100 and less, and I'm going for it). The reviews (199 of them) were consistently good, and I've had
rotagar,
fearsclave and my friend April all tell me it was a good marker.
In other news, I found my Mahones t-shirt which I thought I'd lost, so that makes me happy. :)

Hm.
Date: 2003-04-09 06:59 pm (UTC)As for the price, it may be remanufactured, ie. a marker that was returned because of a defect, fixed up, and resold (usually with a warranty, although that may vary). You should ask the dealer before buying, not that remans aren't a good thing. Mine was, and since it's a Brass Eagle, it was a good move; at least I knew that it would work.
One thing to beware about buying Spyders across the border is that they're manufactured in the Orient, they do get dinged in terms of duties; you'll pay more than just exchange if they declare it properly on the shipment.
Also, don't forget you will need an elbow and hopper, which I think are included in the Bigfoot package, and a bottle (12 oz or 16oz would be OK for a vertical bottle mount). All in all, it may not prove to be that much cheaper, and if you buy from Bigfoot you'll have peace of mind, more or less local service, and you'll be protected by the Consumer Protection Act (Quebec) which has some pretty serious teeth...

Date: 2003-04-09 08:42 pm (UTC)I'll make inquiries and see which offers the better deal. I would've thought the hopper and elbow came with it, but I guess I was wrong. *grumble*
Thanks for the input. :)
