'Cause these books'll come in handy someday. Needless to say, they don't actually have to be Complete Idiot's Guides, but these are just the titles I happened to stumble upon today while trying to keep busy. ;)

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Electrical Repair (for when I have to do something simple like replace a fuse or something)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Household Solutions (useful, those)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Plumbing (yes, I want to know how to change a washer by myself so it doesn't cost me $110 a pop)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Smart Moving (I'll probably be moving next year, so it couldn't hurt)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Trouble-Free Home Repair, 2E (see recent entries for Home Improvement sagas. I need help)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Woodworking (I've always wanted to make my own furniture. A girl can dream, can't she?)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Gardening, Second Edition

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Sewing (I can't always bug [livejournal.com profile] joane to teach me how to do stuff)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Quilting (quilts are fun, and it'd be nice to know how to make one)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Needlework (goes together with quilting, and then I could make hankerchiefs and stuff)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Scrapbooking (Lord knows I've tried to keep a scrapbook before, but it never works. This one isn't a priority though)

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Drawing (one day I will be able to draw something recognisable, as God is my witness!)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Digital Photography (hey, it sounds like fun)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Beer (you can never know too much about beer)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Bird Watching (I used to bird watch as a kid, would love to take it up again)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Photography (I'm a pretty good amateur photographer, and I'd like to know how to develop my own photos eventually)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Starting a Reading Group (tried to do that at McGill, but it never got off the ground)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Acting (useful for when I have to fake it in certain situations, and you never know when you'll be required to project your voice, right? Probably not something I could use a book for, though)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Calligraphy (yet another thing I've always wanted to learn; my handwriting is kinda crappy)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Journaling (I wonder what there is to know about keeping a journal?)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Making Money with Your Hobby (money's always good)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Writing Poetry (it could be interesting to hear what someone else has to say on the topic)

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Beating Debt (not severely in debt yet, but I could use the extra advice)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Being a Smart Landlord (not for me, for Frank)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Insurance & Annuities (don't know anything about it, and feel weird asking [livejournal.com profile] firewillow about it even though she's learned all about it at her job. ;)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Investing (eventually I'd like to have more money than I have now)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Investing for Women (obviously different from regular investing [/sarcasm]
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Personal Finance in Your 20s and 30s (yeah, that could help)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Making Money with Mutual Funds, Third Edition (money! wheee!)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Managing Your Money, Third Edition (another area in which I suck!)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Options and Futures (knowledge is power!)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Retiring Early (Yay! Retirement at 35! ;) )
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Running a Bed & Breakfast (random fantasy of mine)
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Tax Deductions (I have a feeling this one is American only, but what can you do?)

Okay, I think that's enough castles in Spain for one day.

just a note: the Dummies series is better than the CIG series -- it seems to be a general opinion.

and, just to be an enabler, all Dummies books are on sale at Chapters: buy 2, get one free... =)

*lol*

Thanks. Will keep in mind.

I've generally found it easier to follow the CIGs, but then again I haven't paid enough attention to really know. :)

*shrug* i haven't paid much attention either, but from what i've seen, the dummies books are better written and more informative.
