A quiet day for a quiet Bookworm

Did some online t00bage after my landlord came to deliver the annoying news of my Hydro Bills, whinged about it in my previous entry, then went for brunch at the Parental Units' apartment. Had moderately pleasant time with them, as my mother went into HighlyVocallyIndignat!Mother mode over the aforementioned Hydro bill, and my father declared that after breakfast he'd be coming to my apartment to "inspect" it to make sure it was up to his standards of cleanliness.

*sigh*

Not an auspicious start to the day, but I at least managed to convince him to let me go home by myself for a little while and join me later. I did a mini-blitz when I got back : changed the cat litter, passed the swiffer around, vacuumed, threw out some papers and did the two or three dishes that were still in my sink.

I don't know whether my father was pleased or disappointed to find that my apartment was nearly impeccable when he arrived, but he said that he was very impressed. I then fed him tea and biscuits and made him feel useful by getting him to change the ceiling lamps (the bulbs were almost all burnt out) and hooking up the hose to the drier. Sadly we discovered that I don't have an electric outlet adapted to said drier, so my clothes are still going to be wet after I wash them. It was a good effort, though, and I have blackmail-worthy photos of my father being "assisted" by George in his efforts to hook up the drier. Was most amusing.

fearsclave was too tired after a weekend of working to do any practise driving, so I t00bed some more on the internet, and got in a bit of work on aparecium_rpg, which proceeds apace. Created my own country, which is still far too controlling, government-wise: I wanted an anarchist government, dammit! They can't charge 48% income tax! *sigh* Oh well.

Had a quiet supper of noodles, and am ogling my now spotlessly-clean (if still slightly untidy) apartment with undisguised admiration. Of course the cats are kind of ruining the tranquility of the moment by fighting over who gets to sit in the comfy chair, but whatever.

Life is good. :)
