Well, I didn't really update yesterday although maybe I should have.
The long and the short of it is that I went to see my gp (the one I haven't been to in seven years because he told me my migraines were just a figment of my imagination).
This time around, maybe because I was older, maybe because he didn't remember me because I've changed a lot and had only ever been to see him the once, he actually treated me pretty decently. He did a thorough check-up, and told me that I was generally speaking in good health, other than my weight (duh!).
Then we discussed why I was there, and he seemed to accept what I was saying (at once about the virus, the vomiting blood, the migraines and the insomnia). He took some blood, and prescribed something for the insomnia, and told me he thought I might not have anaemia, but simply genetically small blood cells which would look just like anaemia, but he'd let me know about the results when he got them.
He told me that he didn't think I should see a neurologist about the migraines since I was still able to function while I had them. I may insist a little more the next time I see him, but yesterday was progress enough.
The sleeping pills didn't work as magically as I thought they would. I still woke up about three times during the night. Still, it was less often than usual, and I had no problems getting back to sleep afterwards, so I think it's promising, as a start.
Am feeling a little groggy this morning *checks watch* afternoon, but I think that has nothing to do with the pill and everything to do with the fact that I'm still overtired.
In other news, with the windchill it's -40°C!!!!! *faints*
