Well, the good news is that I *may* have a computer by the end of the week. The bad news is that I have no net connection because I lost all my McGill remote access info.

Oops.

Oh well. I'll just get something through Sympatico.

Let's see. Mage on Friday was cool, although I went to bed far too late for my own good and I got the impression that for the most part the game would have done just as well if not better without me. But it was still fun.

Had breakfast with the Parental Units on Saturday, and spent the better part of the day puttering around town with the Paternal Unit, who bought me lunch and gave me books, and went with me to Dumoulin Electronique to ogle computers.

Met up with Poms outside Omer Deserres and dragged him home for tea. Was amused beyond words watching him and the Paternal Unit sizing each other up, and was almost expecting the "And what exactly are your intentions, young man?" speech, or "Will you be able to provide my daughter with the kind of lifestyle to which she is accustomed?"

Spent the next while zipping around in the car, dropping off Poms at his place (which was messier than mine, I was most gratified to see: I had begun to worry that he was neater than I am on a regular basis) and then trotting back to my parents' place to fetch the italian sausages we'd forgotten there.

Replete with spaghetti and tomato sauce and Coaticook chocolate ice cream (yay!) we then proceeded to the theatre, where our streak continued. The play (Jacques le Fataliste by Diderot) was fabulous, with energetic and witty actors, brilliant if sometimes obscure dialogue, a fresh interpretation of the text and gloriously irreverent and anachronistic ad-libs and add-ons. Audience participation, while not always a good idea and certainly not everyone's cup of tea, made the whole experience extremely entertaining and very enjoyable.

I again went to bed far too late after beginning a promising new series of bande dessinée called Aldebaràn, for which I can hardly wait to get the last two in the cycle. It's SF at its best (for the genre and medium), and while the drawings are a bit stilted and lack the feeling of natural movement, the sentiment quickly gets lost as one is swept away in the gripping plot, well-developed characters and intriguing world.

Sunday passed in a contented blur. I bought two more of the Aldebaràn series and spent the day with the Parental Units, topping it off by watching the first part of an A&E original movie version of The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

I missed the end which was last night, but I don't think I missed much.

Had dinner with [livejournal.com profile] blackbuffet, which I had momentarily forgotten about (sorry, Victor!) and therefore had to email people in a panic to cancel Adventure!, although I wasn't all that sorry about it. RC's games have long since ceased to interest me, and I've only been going because Poms is there, and also because it's the only time I ever get to see FP anymore.

Blackbuffet and I had a marvellous time catching up on what's been happening in our respective lives and work, gossip from various games, and plotting viciously for Third Empire. [livejournal.com profile] curtana, prepare for an onslaught of email. ;)

Off to work again! *sets of with determined air*
