I can't believe this.

So I start my update on my first break, then I LOCK my workstation and go to a meeting.

An hour and a half later or so I come back, only to find that the tech department has been rooting around in my computer and SHUT DOWN all my programs, including the internet. So my update went down the tubes.

Bah.

[livejournal.com profile] curtana's game starts tonight. I am *way* psyched. Can't wait. Oh, right. Really should read the stuff she sent. *wanders off*

Anyhoo...

Weekend was v. pleasant. Went shopping with [livejournal.com profile] firewillow, then saw Road to Perdition with Poms and had a nice cuddle afterwards, although having a fit of the giggles in the middle because one's boyfriend has made an error in a literary reference does tend to kill the mood. Hey, you can't blame me: he confused Lestat with Lestrade, which if you know your Ann Rice and your Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, is pretty damned hysterical.

Sunday was quiet. Went to church, had a nap, then dinner with the Parental Units. Nothing spectacular.

Monday was an almost complete write-off, as was yesterday. Long, stressful days, not much recognition, and traffic problems to boot. Still, 'twas nice to see NA for dinner Monday, and PL's birthday yesterday was fun, even though I was so tired I could barely stand up.

Am still struggling with knitting, although I at least have a nifty new knitting basket and an appointment with my godmother when she comes back from Nova Scotia for some tutoring.

Bought some light bulbs and my kitchen is now almost fully stocked. Will likely be inviting people for drinkage and nourishment in the coming weeks.

Am hoping to put enough money aside to buy a sofa. Saw a nice one at IKEA for about $250, which is reasonable to say the least, though am tempted to wander by the Salvation Army to see what they have to offer as well.

*sigh*

Been spending like a drunken sailor lately. Need to stop that after a while, or else I'll be evicted along with my cats.

I'm back in pet mode, too. Went to buy a cat litter box on Saturday and wanted to buy the whole shop, as usual, including the happy canary looking smug at the front of the shop.

And the FISH! The fish are gorgeous. If I had money I'd buy a filter RIGHT NOW and get fish, but I'm going to wait until my finances settle a wee bit before doing that.

In other news, spent most of the morning in a meeting. While most may cringe and groan at the idea, I actually like meetings, because they mean a break from customer service. Really, most of my time is spent fielding calls and taking abuse from clients and having to be cheerful and polite about it. So this was an hour and a half of welcome relief from tedium.

Funnily enough, it's only *now* that I'm starting a migraine. Hope it won't get too bad before tonight, 'cause I really want to play tonight! I suppose it's the result of accumulated stress catching up with me.

Wow, better stop now before this post dies a disjointed death.

I had far more important things to think about than vampires, me. ;-)

Don't cats eat fish?

It seems to me that the 'acquire finny friends' plan may need extra preparation if it is to work...

Cats eat fish? Not necessarily... I've got fish and a cat, and while the cat sits and watches the fish through the tank, he actually hasn't eaten any of them. On that note, th9ough, once my Betta dies, I have no intention of replacing him. Rich will take my bottom-feeder for his tank, and that'll leave my little filter tank empty. it's about two gallons, and won't hold much, but it's nice for a betta or a little school of neons or something. If you want to have it on a long-term loan once the betta kicks the bucket, you're welcome to it. Just tape the feeder slot down with electrical tape and the cats can't get in. I may want it back in, oh, ten years or so, when my first-born (knock on wood) might be old enough to comprehend caring for a pet, but until then it'll just sit in my closet. Let me know!

*perks up*
