Gushing about pets...

Smudge is getting to be a big old suck. ^_^
He comes up to me randomly when I'm on the computer and puts his paws on my thigh and asks to be petted. Then he jumps in my lap and stands there, waiting for more petting and attention. He hasn't mastered the art of settling yet, but he stays for a reasonably long time. Then he jumps down and resumes position #1 with paws on my leg so I can pet him more.
This is when the other three aren't clamouring for my attention. I lurve my kitties. They rock, even if they're a massive pain in the butt.
I've been thinking of obtaining a bunch of woodworking equipment and some carpeting and making them some more stuff to climb on, but then upon thinking about it the purchasing of said equipment would end up costing me three times as much as if I simply bought ready-made cat trees at a pet store. It would be cheaper in the long run, sure, but I have nowhere to keep the tools if I buy them, and I know myself well enough to realise that such a project would entail a huge mess from which I would probably never be able to extricate myself without considerable outside help. Not to mention that I'd probably saw off a finger, knowing my luck with such things.
In any case, I'll wait until I have money. Right now the next few months are looking pretty tight. :/
Going back to pet my kitties now. ^_^
