Updates, as promised

We last left our intrepid heroine last Sunday as she prepared for a week of moving into her new apartment. Here's an overview of what's happened since then:

Monday

Began cleaning apartment. Cleared dead mouse preserved in plastic bags under sink. Discovered former tenants lived in wallow of their own filth. Most disgusting.

Cleaned apartment for most of day. Did not make much headway.

Icky encounter with former evil Italian teacher at lunch. Was unthrilled.

V. fun dinner with Curtana, Firewillow, Forthright & Riverwolf at new Ruben's on St. Catherine. Firewillow shocked the entire restaurant by nearly finishing a snowball (an evil dessert consisting of five balls of vanilla ice cream, four brownie bars, and loads of chocolate sauce). She was shaking so hard by the end she was nothing but a sugar–buzzed blur. Was sick for two days afterward.

Tuesday

Work. Went home, collapsed.

Wednesday

More work. Went home, collapsed. Found out my building won't let me move except between nine in the morning and four in the afternoon. Had to cancel move at 7:30am on Friday and kitty shopping in pm. Was annoyed. Tentatively rescheduled for following Wednesday.

Thursday

Work.

Shopping for kitty stuff with Firewillow. We were both so fried we could barely see straight. Bought kitty stuff, ogled SUPERB siamese kitty in cage (was discouraged by $250 price tag), had fun wrestling with parrot that was trying to eat the button off my polo shirt.

Realised halfway to pet shop that I'd left Pebbles' number (Bunny's girlfriend) at work, and that I wouldn't be able to call her.

Went to eat at small Italian place on Bernard. Hostess was rude at first, but eventually warmed to us. Waited for nearly twenty minutes before we finally decided to sit at the bar, 'cause we were starving. We both had Fetuccine Alfredo which we downed in about ten minutes.

I dropped Firewillow off home, then went home myself to crash.

Friday

Woke up with headache. Medicated it, then when to lunch at Rubens with Bunny, Pebbles, Firewillow and Riverwolf. Riverwolf and I each had a snowball, aided by Pebbles and Firewillow. Bunny was disgusted, when he wasn't completely zoned out. We had fun mocking him, visions of his brain squelching slowly along St. Catherine trying to catch up to him since he'd left it at the office.

Was fun.

Went to apartment and continued scrubbing. Made more headway. Discovered kitchen floor is white, not grey.

Stopped off at current home for long shower and change of clothes sorely needed.

More fun was gathering at Hurley's with the Mikeopath, Fearsclave, Firewillow, Poms, Rowan, Fordcov and Belfana.

Drinking and gaming stories, the Mahones, a piper in full regalia, Fearsclave doing obscene things to my cell phone (as well as Fordcov), dancing, much drinking.

Stayed out far too late, was so fried the next day postponed date with Poms to Monday.

Saturday

Work. Went home and collapsed.

Sunday

Work. Went home and collapsed.

Today

Mostly finished cleaning out apartment.

Bought more stuff at Canadian Tire. Apartment slowly starting to come together.

Date with Poms. Had dinner at Indian restaurant, which was nice but service REEEEAAAALLLLY slow. Waiter old guy with very few manners. Was not pleased. Oh well. Had chocolate ice cream at dairy bar afterwards.

Dropped Poms off at home. Have blackmail–worthy pic of Firewillow. Heh. ;)

*g* You forgot to mention that I was also v. smug for the two days I was sick. Are the whole thing. By myself. While wimpy girls at next table could not eat one slice of cheesecake between all three of themselves. Ha! Wimps.
