For your general information
May. 24th, 2002 12:00 pmLinks to websites and stuff on self–injury:
This is Deb Martinson's Secret Shame website, and by far the best on the web that I've ever encountered:
Secret Shame
Go here for more specific info if you don't actually self–injure but need a few tips on how not to be completely freaked by the fact that one of your friends/family is a self–injurer.
This is another good resource, but not as thorough and complete. Has some twisted humour in there too, which is a nice change.
The Bodies Under Siege Web Board is a good interactive place to get questions answered and support when you need it. It has a good families and friends section monitored by a very friendly, down–to–earth woman whose daughter is an SIer.
I also happen to be a moderator on the main board since March or thereabouts.
This is the more specific web board for families and friends: yet another link .
I think that's enough for now.
Questions/comments/issues/whatever, can be sent to me via email, and I'll answer them as best I can. Or in the comments section, if you think many people could benefit from the answers.
