Well, this has been a good day thus far
May. 10th, 2002 03:05 pmHaving slept for fourteen hours (so much for "just a quick nap before supper"), I awoke at eight, had breakfast and zipped off to Côte–des–Neiges to get my hair cut. It was in dire need of maintenance, and I must say my hairdresser is fabulous. She got a little carried away with putting my hair up at the end, but the cut is extremely nice, unlike the crappy one I got last time with someone else, which left one side of my hair about eight centimeters longer than the other.
Did some shopping for my mother while I had the car. Just normal stuff like oranges and grapefruit, milk, perrier etc. Nothing spectacular.
Had fun discussion with TX from the BUS board about his girlfriend and life in general, including the merits of cider and Guinness. He thinks I should tell Poms about the cutting, but I think I may hold off a while longer on that front. It's a big announcement and a lot for one person to swallow, especially for a nervous, skittish guy like Poms. He tends to take things very personally, and I'd hate to have him suddenly feel responsible for keeping me "safe" or something. I'm only just coming to grips with it myself.
Wondering whether I should bring up another subject at dinner tonight. As far as I can tell, he's been extremely circumspect about actually mentioning to anyone else that we're seeing each other. I'm not sure whether he thinks I don't want anyone else to know and is being considerate about my feelings, or whether he doesn't want people to know. In the latter case, I'd really like to know why. How I'm going to broach this topic without being brutally blunt the way I usually am is kind of beyond me at this point.
*sigh* I hate being so socially inept. I'm really bad at conversations that don't involve being flippant on some level. Dammit. :P
Had lunch with Firewillow, which was v. pleasant. Cackled about Bunny and the upcoming Deadlands game, for which I get more inspired every day.
Bought an Hermès scarf for my mother for Mother's Day, and gave it to her straightaway when I came home, 'cause I was so insufferably pleased with myself. She loved it, which absolutely made my day. It's purple and violet and has a feather pattern on it, which I knew she'd like because they look rather like our bird's feathers.
Also stopped at the bank where I applied for a credit card and set up a Guaranteed Investment Certificate for a rainy day. Been meaning to do that for a while now.
So all in all got a lot done today.
