My parents are apparently still on talking terms, mostly due to major efforts at reconciliation on my father's part and numerous jokes, which my mother usually can't resist. It's very hard to stay mad at my father when he's like that.

My grandfather is still hanging in there, barely breathing and definitely not conscious, though apparently he can still kind of understand what's going on. From what the nurse told us today and what my father found out later, he apparently stopped eating and drinking last Thursday and refused to take any medication, but no one saw fit to tell us. *grr*

Evening with Curtana and Forthright was a welcome break from playing UN Peacekeeping Force with an increasingly agitated and upset Maternal Unit, who by the time I left had convinced herself that my father doesn't really love her, doesn't consider her his partner in life, doesn't think of her as family, etc etc...

She also came back to her earlier theory that my aunt is out to break up their marriage.

I'm pretty sure she's wrong. I mean, my aunt is an awful woman, but I can't see what her interest in that would be. She's too busy screwing up her kids' lives to be screwing up ours as well. *miaow*

Spent evening talking about parents and music and gaming with Forthright and Curtana, listened to amusingly regrettable MP3s. Was fun and distracting and I'm extremely grateful to them for putting up with me until such an ungodly hour.

Off to bed now.

Regrettable mp3's?

Erk.

Situation sounds less than yummylicious, but glad to hear things are *somewhat* improving on the 'rental level. Hope you're doing OK...

Well, *I* don't find them regrettable :) Who can object to Leonard Nimoy singing The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins, I ask you? Weird Al is pretty good too. And what about Blood on the Saddle, by the inestimable Tex Ritter? *hmph* I would note that I saw Daphne laughing, too :)

Am guessing wasn't clear enough about movie invite for last night. My bad. *mopes*

Am glad you got out of house nonetheless.

Am totally biased when it comes to aunts and cannot say anything constructive there am afraid. *sheepish look* Is good that father is back and parents talking.

*Wanders off to check out why work server is wiggy with a resigned look. Have we heard this one before?*

I meant the same night. :) I should have insisted more, but though you just wanted to stay home and rest, and since you'd been the previous evening, didn't think to clarify...

My bad, I insist. ;)

Something tonight, or no?

well

I can recall many a breakup that Steve and Julia helped me through. You definately have gone to the right place, they are experienced with angst-management.

No offense meant to fire-willow.
