Some good news
Feb. 27th, 2002 04:30 pmJust got off the phone with Bell. Nerve-wracking 40 minute interview. I think I nailed it and blew the guy's socks off. Will soon be among the ranks of the employed, with social benefits to boot.
Go me!
Now, all I have to do is pass the skill assessment test and I'm home free. Am v. pleased with self. Heh.
On the minus side, they called as I was leaving to get the Gamers' Guild subsidy from SSMU, and by the time we hung up it was too late to get there. So I called instead: we have our subsidy, but I don't know for how much. Oh well.
Not feeling quite as panicky and horrible as before.
Got my Incarnate game tonight, with Curtana and Forthright. I'm looking forward to this. I've decided to make Shannon come out of her shell come what may. I'm cutting her hair short, making her wear slightly better and less conservative clothing. I've also bought off the inconspicuous feature and upped her charisma, so I figure I have a good shot at getting Alvin down the aisle by the end of this campaign. *grin*
Alvin's an NPC, for those of you who don't know. Former military, one arm, kinda paranoid, but Shannon (my character) thinks he's just sweet and misunderstood. I've decided she's going to marry him. Heh. He'll never get her otherwise, since she's a devout Catholic.
Still, I think everyone (myself included) is getting fed up with Shannon being such a wussy wallflower, so I'm going to change that starting today. I think that getting Alvin's old psychiatrist and friend, Tabib, in town is a good move. Alvin needs someone he can trust implicitly to sort himself out with the whole Shannon situation. After all, he spent a lot of his life (most of it) hating the idea of the reincarnation of Richard Bayle and dreaming of murder and revenge, so being in love with her (or just being attracted to her) must be confusing in the extreme. Tabib will likely be able to sort him out a bit.
I'm very curious how that whole Society of Ouroboros storyline will unfold. Frankly, up until now John has been going about this in a way which doesn't seem to me to be all that productive or logical. Not that I have a better plan, of course, but it just seems wierd. At least he has Charles to help him work on it. Between the two of them I'm sure they can figure it out.
Well, here goes nothing. :)
