Goodness, would you look at the time? ^_-
Dec. 15th, 2003 08:48 pmJust got back from a minor crisis in a friend's life. Well, minor in certain ways, certainly not minor in others. Crisis not resolved, since she mostly just needed a shoulder to cry on until tomorrow (well, today) when it *might* get resolved.
Got an email from her around 9:20, and by 9:23 was out the door in the most impressive display of speed-dressing since Bruno Walton first graced the hallowed halls of MacDonald Hall (if you've never read Gordon Korman you won't know what I'm talking about and will have missed some great children's books). Got there about twenty minutes later in spite of annoying snow-related traffic issues.
Briefly pondered driving to the homes of the ***censored*** people who made her cry and breaking their kneecaps, but decided not to because A) she needed me there more, and B) I don't know where they live.
Spent until 3:45 chatting, mostly about the crisis at hand but also about lots of other really interesting topics, and I had a good time in spite of the fact that she was upset. I got to learn a lot more about her (and she about me, I think), and I think that it was most certainly time well spent. Certainly better than sitting around here all night feeling sorry for myself. ;P
After all, I'm an insomniac: it's not like I was *sleeping* or anything. ^_-
Unfortunately, I missed the bright orange sign they tacked onto one of the posts outside her place, and thus my car got towed. We found some helpful policemen who gave us a number to call but suggested we take a look along neighbouring streets first, since there might well be a long wait on the lines. We took their advice and looked around, and found my car about five minutes later, which was a plus. There was a $92 parking ticket there too, which was a minus.
I then came home and dug my way *into* a snowbank so I could park my car. I'll have to move it at 8am so as not to get yet another parking ticket. *sigh*
