elanya's interview:
1. Since you are done with Hell Mobility... What is your Dream Job?
Umm, really, it would be to be independently wealthy.
Otherwise, I'd love to work from home. Either writing, or if I ever get skilled enough, to sell my knitting from home (maybe on the internet or something). Or both. ;)
I deal very poorly with stress, I've noticed, so anything really low-key. Making lots of money is not a big priority for me, as long as I can eat and pay the bills and buy the occasional book or CD.
2. What do you think it would take for you to feel it was necessary to come out to your parents?
The end of the world.
Err, most likely if I got serious enough about someone (*cough*) to want to marry them. Hey, Vermont's just across the border, right? ;)
3. If you could have at your mercy (for better or worse) any one person from your past, who would it be, why, and what would you do to them?
The evil!gamer part of me wants to get my hands on one of the bullies who tortured me for years and have some weird device that would do unto them as they did unto me. However, I have a feeling that if I was actually given that opportunity, I probably wouldn't take it. I've actually moved on, mostly. It's not that important, and they've likely forgotten about me anyway.
Otherwise? I think I'd like to have my foster mother, who took care of me when I was an infant, and do something really nice for her. She's dead, unfortunately, and has been for years, otherwise I'd have tracked her down by now. :(
4. If you were for some reason only allowed to read books by five authors for the rest of your life, which five would you choose, and why?
Bernard Cornwell, because he wrote a ton of books and so I won't run out of light reading.
Salman Rushdie, because he also wrote a ton of books and he makes me actually use my brain.
C.S. Lewis, because The Chronicles of Narnia are my comfort reading.
J. R. R. Tolkien. See C. S. Lewis.
J. K. Rowling, because that means that for the next few years I can look forward to new reading. ;)
5. What is your most memorable gaming experience, and what made it so?
I don't know whether I have any *memorable* gaming experiences. I have lots of amusing anecdotes about my games, tons and tons of good quotes, but because I have quite a good memory, a lot of them stand out as being quite entertaining.
I got very emotionally involved with my character Vicky (from a Deadlands game about which I talk incessantly), and I remember the scene in which her lover Alexandre (eventually he was to become her husband) told her that he had to leave her in order to put his spiritual life in order, and that she couldn't come with him.
This was after eight straight hours of intensive role-playing, and I remember feeling as though my *own* heart was breaking and not Vicky's, and my throat clogged and my heartbeats started to hurt and my eyes pricked and I had to take a few minutes after that scene to compose myself. It was kind of embarassing, actually. ;)
