I talk a *lot* about my mother here, so I thought I'd give everyone an idea of what it's like to be around her when she's in a good mood. :)

This is what it was like for me growing up, almost constantly: my mother talks the way she writes, and lives the way she talks. :)

hello darling angel - found at last, at last, a cybercafe called here "Cafe Orbital". So happy to be able to speak to you - although I haven't been able to figure out the reverse. Delicious warm rain in Paris.

In Usez the fields were covered in scarlet poppies - Monet land. Cooling off in the swimming pool that overlooked unending stretches of vine, neat rows pointing to the Cevennes mountains in the distance. Bowls overflowing with cherries to cool off ( 30-32 degree weather; the locals insist it's the first time in memory it's so hot in May- June).  The kind of weather that turns you into a blissfully happy veggie.

In the Bergerie daddy found a tinyie-tiniiie-tynnnnie (spelling variations to induce visual experience) scorpion wandering about - which he naturally preserved and wanted to travel with. However I put my foot down (NO, not on the Scorpion).

What an excellent idea for you to fly away from BellMobility-induced mizzyness. It's fine to work exceedingly hard - but, I cannot believe the degree of draconian pressures that the employees are subjected to. Zounds and Crumpets and other Impressive Swearwords.

Here, the populace is striking because they want absolutely their FIVE WEEKS annual paid holidays - considered an ultra normal work frizzle, among other goodies (which include being treated with velvet gloves around the workplace).

Definitely a good idea to move laterally.

Gilles Ayguesparsse introduced daddy and I to a minute 1/2 inch x 2 inch "travelling disquette" (100 megabits) that can carry all your important data on trips. It's worn on a string round your neck - absolutely  SWISH.  Apparently no businessman worth his salt carries his computer with him anymore in Europe !  Much gossip about the boys to tell on my return - too long here.

I send you my darling angel the largest possible hug I could find on the entire planet and miss you - sigh - an awful lot.

Blimey.

I'm sorry to say this, but if I were inventing an airhead character for a satiric novel, I couldn't do better.

*rotflmao*

She's not actually an airhead: she's an extremely intelligent and creative woman. She was just brought up to be a socialite, and talks like it. *g*

She's also *extremely* eccentric. :)

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply that she is an airhead, just that that overbrilliant, scattered, willfully impish kind of conversation from a grown woman... then again *smile* I'm English, and we do seem to think that eccentricity is delightful, so I'm sure I'd find her easier to manage in person.

Oh, she sounds (and this isn't meant to be demeaning in the least) so cute! Straight out of Noel Coward or something of the sort!

Pretty much. My family are big fans of Noel coward. :)

She sounds wonderful here. Absolutely... like a character from a favorite childhood novel, like the aunt they spend summers at the beach with. I'm sorry, for your sake, that she isn't always like that. *snugs*
