So... tired...
That'll teach me to game until nearly midnight on a Monday. O_O
Damn you,
shenlo for making the game so damned riveting and fun! *attempts a glare and fails miserably*
Fulminata is actually an okay system so far. Simple and conducive to non-dice-intensive stuff, which I'm beginning to like more and more these days. I'm playing a prostitute named Safiya living in Ancient Rome (well, an alternate history one, but so far we're sticking as close to historical accuracy as gaming will permit), and so far it's a lot of fun.
I got to see a demonstration of the "goldfish kiss" by
joane and
shenlo, who are just so damned cute and sweet together it made my teeth ache (in a good way, I swear!).
Molested the cat, Wumpus, who is still a woobie.
Other things of note: internet connection died over the weekend for reasons unknown then came back to life. Spent time giving water and food to the Parental Units' bird while they were both out of town and watering the plants, took the opportunity to watch the tube for the first time in a few months. Forever Knight is still good (if really really eighties-looking), and on Sunday I watched the BBC crime show lineup on Showcase. It was all re-runs except for Halifax, which was a pity. I mean, how many times are they going to show the same damned episodes of Cracker and Prime Suspect? Brilliant shows, but once you've seen them you've seen them. Re-runs once in a while are okay, but every freaking Sunday is too much.
Ah well. I normally don't have a television anyway, so no harm done.
Was almost late getting up today until I realised that going back to sleep was not a good idea. I start work half an hour earlier these days, so I need to be up and at 'em when my alarm rings as opposed to having half an hour's leeway. Still, I kicked myself out of bed and got to where I had to be on time.
Taking calls, while not getting any less tedious, is becoming slightly easier, as I knew it would. Thank God I managed to secure two days off next week (Monday and Tuesday! Whee! Four-day weekend!) so that I'll be able to get some much-needed sleep and time off. Otherwise I'd go insane. Which we all know is a bad thing. ^_-
Am off to go make my plot bunnies reproduce! Yeek!
