I know you're all sick of hearing me whine about my work schedule. I promise, in another month, there will be a new schedule for me to whine about! ;)

I have a Giant List of Things To Do today, none of which I actually feel like doing. I am *tired*. Between night shift and having to go back in yesterday for overtime, I am wiped. What I really want to do is spend all day curled up somewhere with a book. Possibly tea could be involved.

I'm going to see if I can meet myself halfway, at least, and get the place reasonably tidy. Right now it looks like a bomb went off in my front hallway. The rest of the place isn't too bad, luckily. The kitchen needs a bit of TLC, but mostly it's the hallway that's Full Of Stuff.

Just thinking about that To-Do list makes me tired. It's ten miles long, and even though I know I'll feel happier and less stressed when I do it, part of me still doesn't want to.

Meh.

I am going to have breakfast, and then see what I can do about it.

I've been listening to Anna Russell. She makes me laugh and laugh and laugh. The first time I heard her "Ring" synopsis I was twelve years old, and a lot of it was lost on me, but it was still pretty hilarious. By the time I was in my twenties and was familiar with Wagner, it got a LOT funnier.

For those of you who are new(ish) to this LJ, yes, I like Wagner. I think he doesn't get nearly enough credit because all people know of him (or think they know of him) is the Ride of the Valkyries, which is now forever linked with "Apocalypse Now."

Wager is like the Metallica of the opera world.

If you know the chord to E-Flat Major, you know the prelude to Rheingold )

For those of you who don't like Wagner, here she is giving her formula for writing your very own Gilbert & Sullivan opera. :D
