I just gave my very first ultimatum ever, today.

I told my boss that if she couldn't hire me permanently soon, that I would be looking for a new job. I was nice, I was polite, but firm.

So, I might soon find myself doing that looking-for-a-job thing again. Maybe this time I'll be able to find one that isn't stultifyingly dull. Mind you, I'd settle for one that pays decent wages.

In the meantime, I'd much rather they hired me permanently here, so that I could get a steady paychèque and benefits for a while. Benefits would be nice.

Shall update about weekend later.

It's going to be a long week

More random work stuff.

I talked to my boss, this time about something actually job-related (as opposed to "Hire me or I leave."). What I was trying to communicate was this:

"[Group Name] and [Other Group Name]'s accounts are still overdrawn. I've asked CAM to sign off, as well as Boss!Man, and I'll be sending faxes to both groups asking them to cover their overdrafts. Would you like me to phone down to Credit!Guy and make sure he'll be authorizing this today?"

What came out was:

"Umm, yeah. So should I, umm, :::handwave::: Credit!Guy about the... you know :::handwave:::? 'Cause the people are still... umm... the things... the découverts... are worse than Friday. I mean, for [Group Name] and [Other Group Name]. I've already got the :::handwave::: from CAM and Boss!Man, so I'll be sending the :::handwave:::, so it can be covered, okay?"

(For my non-French-enabled friends, "découverts" means "overdrafts")

On the plus side, she actually understood what I was driving at.

It's all about me...

I forgot that I hadn't put up a bio in the appropriate section of my LJ. I have no idea what to write. There are so many possibilities for bios.

I could go all out, like meallanmouse, who did funky formatting and wrote an entire autobiography.

On the other end of the spectrum are people like baronscartop, who is, in a word, succinct.

In between are those like fearsclave and ladytabitha, who have complete, lengthy, but not over-the-top state-of-the-LJ-user types of bios.

Or, there's the terse type, like the one ai731 has, or the funny type, like luvenditti.


I suppose, to write a bio, it would help if I knew just who the hell I was.
