... to say that [livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha is as cool in person as she sounds in her LJ, which is pretty darned cool indeed, in case you had any doubts.

We met up, had a coffee and a fun chat about cats and the ins and outs of running a shelter and how people who abuse animals/take their pets for granted suck on a fundamental level, and generally got on pretty well, I think. :)

I'd say more, but I'm going to bed now.

Oh, and is evil. It has hidden secretses, it does, and I've only found one of them, and only because I was told partially what it was. *sigh*

Maybe one of my nice internet friendses will tell me the secretses of the website. *bats eyelashes seductively at internet friendses* Nice friendses... we'll be loyal to them forever and ever, won't we preciousss? Yesss, we will...

Ahem.

Moving right along...

I have to go to bed, or else I'll poke fruitlessly at that website all night, and then I'll be tired and cranky tomorrow, and that won't help anyone.

In related news, I finally got my mother to watch Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone tonight. Of course, it was on an American station, so it was actually Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, because someone somewhere got it into their heads that Americans are too stupid to understand what a Philosopher's Stone is and would be put off by a title like that. *rolls eyes* Whatever. What do I know about American marketing strategies?

My mother really enjoyed the movie though, in spite of it being constantly interrupted by commercials. I would never have got her to consent to renting it, so now that I have her hooked on the Harry Potter crack, maybe we'll be able to rent CoS. *evil cackle*

Hmm... this was meant to be a short post.

Right. Bed.

Huh...

I am Friday's Child

What day are you?

But I hate it when my doorbell rings when I'm not expecting anyone.

Thus, I hate unexpected visitors.

In fact, if my doorbell rings and I'm not expecting anyone, I am unlikely to answer the door.

This means that if you're my friend and you decide to "drop in" on me because you're in the neighbourhood, you're unlikely to be welcomed into my apartment.

There's someone ringing right now, in fact, and it's bugging the hell out of me, because they won't go. the fuck. away.

I bet it's my landlord. I don't want him in here right now. The place is a mess, and I don't want him in here. He can go fuck himself, for all I care. He doesn't come when he says he'll come, he doesn't answer his phone when I call, he doesn't cash his goddamned rent cheques on time, and thus I will not be at his beck and call either. It's petty, yes, but he could have called first. It's not like he doesn't have my phone number.

He can bite me.

You'd think there are worse sounds than doorbells and telephones, but there are few sounds out there which will instantly make my blood pressure rise and my heart rate double. It's most unpleasant.

Right now I just want to crawl into a corner where no one can find me. Is it too late to cancel the whole week?

Me, fifteen thousand dollars a year, a cabin in the woods, and the internet.

No telephones, no doorbell. Especially no doorbell.

I'd need a lake nearby to swim in, and possibly one of those ecologically-fuelled vehicles to get to a nearby town to get supplies, because I would starve to death otherwise. I'm not exactly Survival!Girl, here.

It's either that, or a rubber room.

Don't know where I'd get the fifteen thousand dollars a year from, though. That's the poser.
