Because I dream in geek too
Jan. 8th, 2004 10:31 amI dreamt that I was in a Star Trek marathon on television. Yep, a Star Trek marathon. TOS, no less. Captain Kirk and Spock and Klingons and the whole nine yards.
I was in the third or fourth movie —I was an ensign or something, and not particularly crucial to the plot, but I got to watch all the action on the bridge. The movie, I recall, was a little-known one, but a favourite of the die-hard fans because it had been directed by Tim Burton. Yeah.
Anyway, I remember that Spock got really angry with one of the bridge crew for reversing the polarity on the shields at the wrong moment during a particularly tricky maneuver which caused toxic gas to start venting into the bridge and all sorts of circuit boards to start sparking and exploding (we all got to do the "Star Trek Shuffle" —it was fun), and I also remember thinking that Leonard Nimoy was taking liberties with the character, because Spock was acting shockingly out of character. ^_-
Anyway, fangirl moments aside, we crash-landed on a planet that as far as I can tell now was Earth right about now. Sadly the end of my dream is a bit hazy, but we ended up on this gigantic cruise ship (I'm not kidding, it was at least the size of the World Trade Center buildings, and one entire deck was a swimming pool: people just swam from one end to the other, and I remember one woman was having a therapy session with a psychotherapist who was wearing a white bathing cap with black polka dots —don't ask). We were stranded without food, and the last thing I remember is having to create a distraction so we could steal food from the French restaurant on board.
It was weird, but fun. I got to be in a Star Trek movie directed by Tim Burton. How cool is that? ;)
