Still sick...
Aug. 13th, 2003 01:17 pmHighlights of Saturday (for me):
1- Watching
rotagar charge up a hill only to be gunned down 90 feet later by friendly fire.
2- Belly-crawling for fifty feet to snipe at the enemy (got shot shortly thereafter, and I still have a bruise the size of my fist on my clavicle to prove it).
3- Watching Maggy and JF try to get his boots off at lunch so he could change his soaking-wet socks. Very very amusing stuff.
4- Watching my entire team kick ass all day long.
5- A great big heron that swooped low over the paintball field in the morning before the game started. It was clearly lost and probably sick, and it careened no fewer than three times into the protectiv net around the speedball field. We don't know what happened to it, sadly, but it was an impressive sight.
6- Sniping at the enemy and having them unable to fire back 'cause they couldn't see me. Heh.
7- Seeing
fearsclave stagger back into camp with a personally-captured flag. V. impressive.
8- Getting back at
rotagar for kicking me and knocking me over last year when we were taking photos. This time he was sitting on the ground at the front of the group, so I gently nudged people aside and shoved him none too gently with my boot down the small slope. *is smug* I'd been waiting all year for my moment. :)
That's all I can think of now as major highlights. 'Tis more than enough. :)

Summer colds suck...
Aug. 13th, 2003 03:32 pmNonetheless, I am having a good day.
Am now translating from French into English, which is much, much easier. In fact, I've done almost seven pages today instead of between three and five which is what I average when writing in French.
I guess it comes from not having to look up so many of the technical terms in French.
Am pleased with self. At this rate I'll have finished this text by next Tuesday and start on the last one that I have on my plate until further notice. *anxious wibbling* Now I have to pray that more people will give me work. ^^;
At least I'll have enough money to see me probably through until the end of September, whereupon I'll be in trouble once again. *sigh*
This cold is slowly but surely settling in my chest, the way all my colds seem to do. Not one of them ever wants to leave me alone, no. They have to go and invade my poor bronchial tubes that never did anything to them. *whine bitch moan*
*wanders off to translate more pages*

Aug. 13th, 2003 09:56 pm*dusts off lungs, makes face, sticks them back in chest*
And stay put, dammit!

Many thanks to all of you for the very sweet hugs. You all rock. Yes, you does, my preciouses. :D
Am now equipped with NyQuil and lots of Kleenex and Advil Cold & Sinus for tomorrow. Feel like a walking pharmacy, but better that than being Dead!Phnee, right? ;)
*crawls off to bed*
