*curls up in a ball and dies*
Mar. 8th, 2003 10:52 pmWell, at least I got a lot of stuff done.
My father borrowed his brother's electric drill and together we put up my towel rack (thank you to
firewillow for the super useful tip that helped us not be completely incompetent!) and my new CD racks. I now have way more space to use. Go me!
I also made great progress in the bookcase department. Most of my books are now organised, and the greater part of my random and useless paperwork has gone into the recycling bin. Now all I have to do is sort the rest into the cardboard folders I got expressly for that purpose.
I have to go through all my mail and sort it out as well, and finish clearing off my dining-room table (okay, the only real table I have, but it's still sort of the dining-room table). I can actually see the surface of my table for the first time in weeks! I am vastly impressed with self. All my CDs have been put away too, and in an organised fashion. *pats self on back*
At this rate, my apartment might even be fit for visitors soon. *knocks on wood*
My father bought me a laundry hamper too, which was nice of him. He apparently didn't much care for my bag system (I have a fishnet-type blue bag for laundry, but it's a bit small). The new hamper is large and plastic, but at least it stores relatively easily and is not a total eyesore.
We put spackle over the big holes in the bathroom wall, and I think I'll apply another coat tomorrow to even the whole thing out. Otherwise, it doesn't look half bad, and at least my towels won't be spending the majority of their time either on the floor or hanging off the shower curtain rod.
I kicked out the Paternal Unit at around 4:00pm to do my own cleaning, and then joined him for dinner again at 7:00pm. Have just got back now and intend to continue my cleaning spree, especially as
firewillow has been a productive and industrious woobie and sent out a vast number of Aparecium emails, which I was supposed to do today but didn't do because I was running around being HomeRepair!Phnee.
Further up and further in!
