I think everything's under control.

At least, dinner is set to be put on to cook, I am clean and presentable and wearing socks (not the case five minutes ago).

I'm not sure whether Poms will want artichokes as an entrée or salad afterwards, or both, which in my opinion would be overkill, especially given the way I went overboard with the crudités. Oh well. They're both available, in any case. I just wish I could remember how long one is supposed to cook artichokes...

I hope this goes well. There are any number of small details I'm unsatisfied with, namely: 1) we have no candles, except cheap white ones; 2) My toilet has gone on strike, so we're defaulting to my parents' one instead; 3) We have no nice napkins, unless I crack and use the cloth ones.

I hope Poms likes lasagna and peas. Not a groundbreaker by any means, but something I was able to whip off after work. No mean feat, that.

Ran around like a headless chicken after work, but I think I managed to get everything done.

Am now wondering if we actually have wine in the house. Drat.
