Well, Incarnate's over until next week.

A good session today, I think. Better than most. I got a lot more screen time than I usually do, which was nice. Not that I don't get enough, but sometimes I like a bit of extra time in the sun, so to speak.

Shannon got to meet Tabib, was possessed on New Year's, and even got to speak to Lotus. That was nice. At least contact was kept between Shannon and Lotus despite the really bad beginning. If I can find a way to help Lotus be rid of the Ouroborans (if that's who they are), then it'll be a really good step for Shannon in terms of her Destiny as well as resolving everything that Richard left unfinished. That's a major preoccupation for her, since Voltaire got most of his work done before he died, and what little there was left to do she can easily write down with his help and publish as a "critical" work of Voltaire's thinking. It could work.

I really do want to bring Lotus back into Shannon's life as much as possible, even though their two "faiths" are pretty much irreconcilable. I don't think Shannon will ever want to force Lotus to change her ways even if she thinks they're horrendously sinful. She just wants Lotus to be happy, and if that means staying with her cult in Appalachia, so be it.

ConJuration is in two days, and I think a lot of people are nervous about it this year. I suppose it's understandable. This is the first time since the Con became profitable that it's not being run by Julia, and I daresay we're not used to running a Con without her. Still, things are going pretty darned smoothly. I still have quite a bit of work to do on my game, and Victor and I have to go to the bank tomorrow, but otherwise everything seems to be under control.

I hope that I might be able to avoid work on Fridays if and when I get a job at Bell. They're open 7 days a week, and I'll get the last pick of schedules, but I'm hoping to manage my schedule in such a way that it'll leave some days open when I can do other stuff like roleplay and paintball and work out. The bad part about this job is that it's in Dorval, which is a minimum of one hour's commute away, and they open at 7am. Don't know how I'll manage that, but I guess I'll have to find a way. Hopefully I'll be able to work a regular 9-5 shift, or maybe I can manage to cram a lot of hours into a few days of the week, like 7-9 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Well, maybe not. They only guarantee 20 hours a week, but apparently there are plenty of opportunities to work up to 37 1/2 hours a week even for beginners like me.

I'm enthused about this. It's about time I got into the regular job market and figured out what the real world is like. If I work a regular week at their salary I should definitely be able to afford a place of my own after a decent amount of time. Training is three to six weeks at $13, then it goes up to $15 when I start for real. I'm not really planning to move out until about the end of April or the beginning of May, so that should allow me to save up a considerable sum of money (for me, anyway) to start out with by then.

Of course, this is all premature poultry counting. I don't know if I'll even get this job. I hope I do, though. It pays pretty well, and I get all sorts of social benefits too. Bell has a very good reputation for that, and it's really not a bad company to work for. I've heard nothing but good things about how they treat their employees.

Must get to bed. Early day tomorrow.

In thee thy summer ere thou be distill'd;
Make sweet some vial; treasure thou some place
With beauty's treasure ere it be self-kill'd.
That use is not forbidden usury
Which happies those that pay the willing loan?
That's for thyself to breed an other thee,
Or ten times happier, be it ten for one;
Ten times thyself were happier than thou art,
If ten of thine ten times refigur'd thee.
Then what could Death do if thou shouldst depart,
Leaving thee living in posterity?
Be not self-will'd, for thou art much too fair
To be Death's conquest and make worms thine heir.

Gotta love the Bard. He has something for every situation, and no matter what it is he manages to make it about love. ;)

So much to do today, so little time. I figure I'll get it all sorted out though. Kinda tired. I have to start going to bed earlier. Especially if I'm going to be working early in the mornings on the other side of the freaking galaxy (i.e. Dorval).

*bops happily to the Beatles*

"I'm in love with her and I feel fine
I'm so glad that she's my little girl
She's so glad she's telling all the world
That her baby buys her things
You know he buys her diamond rings
You know she said so
She's in love with me and I feel fine"

Still trying to settle things for my Deadlands game. Every time I think I've got it figured out I realise there's a ton of stuff that doesn't make sense, and now, a day and a half before the Con I have the sinking feeling I may have to start over again almost from scratch. Suckage.

BB's concept is highly amusing. I have to find a suitably evil plot for him.

I think that next year I'll invite players personally to my new Deadlands game, if I ever get it off the ground. CH is a really good player, for instance, but people like EB and KS I can do without. Super nice outside a gaming setting, but as players I find that the quality is sorely lacking.

*bops some more to the Beatles*

"Love you forever and forever
Love you with all my heart
Love you whenever we're together
Love you when we're apart"

Might ask RDE and ML to join the game too. ML was complaining that he hasn't played in anything for two years and is jonesing badly. I think he might join my game at the Con if he gets there early enough.

I think my intrigue is too complex. This is a four?hour game, after all.

...

Just had a major inspiration and have figured out how to integrate BB's character concept perfectly. Go me! I rock sometimes. :)

"Lend me your comb
It's time to go home
I gotta confess
My hair is a mess
Your mommy will scold
Your pappy will shout
Unless we come in
The way we went out"

*lol*

I love that song.

Having lunch with ALB. Looking forward to it like nobody's business. Haven't had lunch with her in forever, and it's always fun when we do.
