Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Paintball rocks. I am drunk. Well, tipsy. Two pints of Guiness hardly counts, but I've discovered that tiredness, adrenaline and alcohol are a lethal mix in my case. I knew that I was a cheap drunk before (five beers and I'm giddy), but two tonight proved that I'm a *really* cheap drunk after paintball.

My left hand looks like it was attacked by a nest of fireants. In retrospect, I should've just taken the shot to the head instead of throwing up my hands instinctively to protect my face. Managed to get shot in both hands, the head, the hip, both legs and a couple in the stomach. Pleased to say that I have not committed the same mistake twice. Go me!

Paintball rocks. I suck at it, but it's a ton of fun.

Got shot in every single game. Got shot behind my mask and had paint all over the side of my face from my eyebrow to my chin. Am v. amused. Am covered in welts and bruises and absurdly pleased with self for sucking so badly. :)

Yeeee!

John Woo meets Mel Brooks moment: RDE and I find ourselves face to face, about eight feet away. Both fire, both miss abominably. So I yell "Freeze!" and he shoots me. So we both called ourselves out of the game. V. amusing, and likely one which will be recounted for a while. Memorable, at least.

Had more or less interesting conversation with ML about women. Apparently he has a worse track record than my friend the Lich, but for different reasons. Those being: he's loud, obnoxious, drinks Guinness at least three or four times a week, and refuses to compromise any of these characteristics. Not that I can blame him. I can't imagine him *not* being that way, so I pity the poor girl who tries to change him. Stupid idea, that, anyway, changing a guy. What's the point of falling in love with someone's "potential"? Just stupid.

He's reached a point where he's not looking. Seems the last debacle in which RDE set him up with a girl went kinda poorly. As RDE put it: it was like setting up Tyler Durden and Ally McBeal.

Guiness afterwards much fun. Have discovered being tipsy is not so bad as long as you're not totally out of control, the way I was last time. Same feeling, but kept a tighter lid on what came out of my mouth. Many amusing gaming stories told, a few ice storm tales, found out the waitress' name was Sarah. Apparently four Sarahs work at Hurley's. Who'da thunk? ML makes a point of knowing waitress' names, as he's a regular there. I think she's new.

Crap. Forgot to contribute for beer. Must write apologetic email to ML. Oh well.

Did I mention paintball rocks? I need to get into shape, but once I do paintball will rock even more. :)

Yeeeeee!

Must go to bed. Seeing BB tomorrow. Agreed with him to go see movie and have dinner, and it won't do at all if I'm a wreck. Stuff to do, people to see, places to go. Busy busy busy.

Bell hasn't written back. Have vague feeling that am doomed to be jobless forever. Seem to be leaving out crucial subjects in sentences. And pronouns. Verbs too, it would seem. Am too tired and tipsy to care. Woohoo! Sentence fragments rock. V. convenient for drunken paintballers.

In other news, I've discovered that blood flows really heavily to scar tissue during and after exercise. Scars are bright red. V. nifty, but disturbing if I ever want to dance with bare arms. Oh well. Maybe they'll fade a bit by then.

To bed, to bed. To sleep, perchance to dream. Perchance my @ss. Stupid pills.

Paintball rocks. Am off to bed. G'night folks!

My mother's annoyed. Presumably because I got up late and she has a luncheon thing going on and I wasn't there as moral support or something.

Yech.

Can't wait until I move out.

Am so stiff and sore it's not even funny. My hand is all red and swollen. Paintball still rocks. :)

Going to movie tonight with BB. Don't know what we'll see. Either Gosford Park or Beauty and the Beast, I suspect. Probably Gosford Park.

Meeting with mother later on after her luncheon to check out MAAA and YWCA. Hopefully we'll find something we like.

But the picture disappeared, so it was pointless to keep the html code and the Annoying Red Square of Doomâ„¢. So I deleted it. You may now go on with the regularly scheduled post.

===================

Going to see Gosford Park tonight. Completely forgot I was meant to see it with ALB, and I'm afraid I hurt her feelings in the process. She's very sensitive that way, so I really have to learn to be more careful about this kind of thing. Start writing stuff down and all that. Stupid brain like a punctured sieve. Thoughts go in one ear and out the other, and I probably have a couple of other holes in there where they ooze out without my noticing.

Definitely not sensitive on my part. Bad bad bad bad.

Ick.

Her birthday is coming up soon. I have to find a nice black babydoll t-shirt for her. I know she likes those. One with a nice message on it. :)

ConJuration in three days, and I feel like I'm running out of time. Everything's under control, but I still feel like I've missed out on doing something. Can't think what it is, but I still feel like I've forgotten something. Ick ick ick.

Gotta put some more work into my Deadlands game for the Con.

Wonder where Doe has got to? She got really upset after that whole debacle on the BUS board about "inappropriate" posts, and I haven't seen her since. Someone mentioned computer problems, and I hope that's it, but I wonder...

I've really come to like her. She's a really sweet person, and super?sensitive and insecure, and I think Deb was a bit brutal in her treatment of the posts, even if she was just trying to keep the board safe. She just made Doe feel even more horrible and disgusting by intimating that she was posting "bad" things that made the board unsafe. Just goes to show that people are never perfect. Deb's style is very dry and direct, and I'm not sure I'd ever like to be on the wrong side of one of her posts. I think I'd be so wounded I'd just want to crawl into a hole and die.

Feeling twitchy today. Dunno why.

Gotta go. Back later, as usual.

Well, got part of what I wanted to do done. May well be getting membership at the MAAA, so that's good.

I'm slightly less sore but a whole lot stiffer than this morning. Paintball still rocks.

Saw Gosford Park with BB. It was wonderful. A masterpiece of character acting. Chock-full of talent, and brilliant performances. The always wonderfully understated Emily Watson, Maggie Smith fabulous as crotchety countess.

All-around good movie. Someone did their homework, and what makes it really great is the fact that even though there's a tight plot, the movie isn't about that: it's about the characters and how they interact. No one character is more important than the others (not significantly, anyway), and they all act wonderfully well.

To anyone reading this: the movie rocks. Well worth the 9 bucks at AMC to go see it.

Gotta get up early tomorrow to work on game, fetch subsidy from SSMU (got there 15 minutes too late to get it today *grr*), and generally get stuff done before the Con.
