*tries very hard not to sleep at desk*
Nov. 25th, 2002 01:15 pmSo I managed to go to bed at a marginally decent hour, even though it was far too late given that I'd gone to bed past 3am both nights before.
Am now very, very tired. Bookworm needs eight hours of sleep a night and a regular sleep schedule to make it through the week. ^^;
Anyhow, where I left off yesterday was right before I went to see the Maternal Unit for a convivial cup of tea. I woke up around 3:30 in the afternoon, because I'd gone to bed late AND I forgot to take my pill on Saturday which always fubars my sleeping patterns to begin with. Bleargh.
Chatted online with Fearsclave for a while and scared him with discussions of the Technocracy and what my character would do if she were brainsnogged and turned into a MiB. 'Twas fun.
Toddled off to see the Maternal Unit, and when she made a flippant comment about my having become "bored" with Poms I burst into tears. It was not a pretty sight. I think she was rather appalled at my reaction, but it hurt a lot. It made me feel as though I'd discarded my boyfriend like and old sock. :(
She apologised, though, and then did what any sensible Maternal Unit would do: she fed me tea, brioche and a croissant, made sure I had chocolate to hand, and let me cry on her shoulder. She then told me I was absolutely right, that I was absolutely marvelous, and that in my place she would have done exactly the same thing.
So all in all, it wasn't a bad time. :)
We talked about her upcoming project (she'll be leaving next week for China if all goes well), as well as my father and what he's up to, and caught up on news of all our friends. 'Twas v. pleasant indeed.
Got home around 9pm-ish, chatted some more with
fearsclave, finally caught
firewillow on Yahoo, and caught up with
griffen with whom I hadn't spoken in ages. Always interesting, talking to him. Insightful fellow indeed. :)
Bleh. Have to go back to work.
