A Real Update From Home
Oct. 20th, 2002 05:50 pmInstead of the random rambling of last night which was the result of tiredness and late-night posting habits coming to the fore.
Damn. My cat is sprawled across half my keyboard, making typing iffy at best. I think poor Pan-Pan is jealous of my new computer. After all, it's taking Mummy's attention away from him.
But boy it's nice to have a computer again!
So today was a success on all fronts: I got the BBTU (as he's been nicknamed by
fearsclave and
firewillow, otherwise translated as the Bearded Boy Toy Unit, or Poms as I call him more commonly in this LJ) to help me schlep my new armoire up the front stairs with my father and into my living room. It's a lovely European design in yellow-painted wood with a discreet floral pattern carved into it. When I have time and money I'll strip and re-paint it, but for the moment it's just fine for keeping my linens out of the cats' reach.
I love my cats, really I do, but there's a reason I dubbed them the Feline Forces of Entropy. My brand-new keyboard is now covered in black cat hairs. *sigh*
In fact, it's rather quiet... *looks around suspiciously for the other FFE*
Anyway, brunch at Eggspectations was great fun, especially the expression on fearsclave's face when he finally caught sight of the fishing rod we'd pitched in to get him for his birthday. April and Anik and Patrice were there (long-time readers will remember them from the Paintball posts towards the beginning of June -the 6th to the 8th, IIRC), and Nico joined us later. They're all in the same Mage campaign, to which firewillow and I were spectator and NPC last Sunday. It's a great campaign, GMed by April, and we're scheduled to convene again next Sunday when April has a really amazingly evil plot set up.
Had ice cream at Le Bilboquet on Bernard street, which arguably has some of the best ice cream in town. Good enough to give Ben & Jerry's a run for their money if they ever decided to expand, I might say.
Must go see why George is so quiet...
