just go with whatever you feel like at the time. that's what i usually do. personally, my LJ isn't for entertainment purposes; it allows me to get my thoughts down in writing (which, incidentally, keeps them from boiling over and attacking people randomly in the streets with pointy sticks and other various paraphernalia i happen to encounter) and helps me keep in touch with people. anything entertaining you find can be posted, but if you're putting too much effort into providing variety, it'll stop being about you and you'll eventually prob'ly get really annoyed with it.
face it, you can't make everybody happy all the time. this is your own personal space: use it however you want, and those of us who already appreciate your posts will continue to do so! =)
