I left work 20 minutes early today. I am trying not to feel guilty about it, but so far I still feel kind of guilty.

I'm also going to bed early tonight. I am TIRED.

Peggy is very happy to have me home, so I think we're going to have a nice evening of snuggling on the sofa. :)

so what i'm hearing is that you're feeling guilty that you've finally gotten back 20 whole minutes of the hundreds of hours that your job has stolen from you. i mean you're welcome to feel however you feel; maybe framing the situation in ways that make you feel guilty is helpful at preventing you from getting far enough into a headspace of "my job owes me literally weeks of time back" to reclaim your time so quickly that you get sacked. if it's not though, maybe my alternate framing of the situation will help sometimes ;P

I only felt a tiny bit guilty, and it's less about the time owed to my employer or from my employer than it is about my feelings of "abandoning" my employees. I can also recognize that my feeling is just a feeling, and it's not actually representative of reality, and act accordingly. :)

Oh, yeah, that sort of guilt. I have nothing to say about it (except maybe to offer my sympathy).
