Heard this song on the radio which reminded me of Vicky on that fateful night in El Paso. :)

Refrain goes like this:

Oh my God!
I woke up with a snake tattoo
Oh my God!
And I think that my tongue's pierced, too
Oh my God! Oh my God!
It's the Sunday morning after and baby who the hell are you?

Back story is this: Vicky (unbeknownst to her) gets possessed by an evil spirit and generally runs amok, drinks a helluva lot, apparently sleeps with several men during the night. She wakes up still drunk the next morning next to a nekked Mexican babe.

Anyway, lots of gunfire later (to open the locked door), she rescues the damsel, pushes her way past a few armed men, and finally gets rescued by the rest of the posse.

I was amused.

As for the rest of it:

1- Did I mention I have a SUPER COOL BOYFRIEND?!? :)

Dinner with Poms went very well. He was an absolute sweetie, as usual, not to mention deserving of loads and loads of brownie points for choice of restaurant. Portuguese place called Bistro le Porto. A wee bit on the expensive side, but we were after all celebrating the finding of my new apartment.

So we had our Serious Talk™ which went okay, and lots of other fun conversation as usual. We walked back to Berri UQAM metro, and Poms decently let me ogle the pet accessories we happened to pass by on our way (we both ogled the pretty sandstone doggies), and as such the evening went by very pleasantly. So pleasantly, in fact, that I think we both got home a lot later than we intended.

2- Got off work early. Always a good thing, even if I wasn't paid. It was a splendid day out, definitely not a good thing to be cooped up inside.

3- Had lunch with Curtana, which was loads of fun. Talk revolved around her thesis and my ranting about work, but also about other nifty and random topics.

High point came when we went and bought chocolate chip cookie dough turtle ice cream and sesame snaps and retired to her apartment to consume said sweets. Watched The Sixth Sense, which was pretty good, and was probably a lot better on the large screen.

Ended up being late for meeting with Firewillow. *sheepish look*

4- Went to see Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron with Firewillow. Had a cheeseburger before at Nickels, and was disappointed to discover there was more cheese in the movie than on my burger. The screen positively dripped with it.

Bryan Adams, and his lyrics, should be taken out and shot. Repeatedly. So should whoever came up with the voice–over. If there's one thing I hate, it's being beaten over the head with a stereotype about how free and wonderful and wild America is.

I mean, with phrases like: "Whether the West was lost or won, you'll have to decide for yourself," and "Fly? There were times I thought I could," and images of said stallion galloping by himself and accompanied by an eagle with whom he apparently gets along swimmingly,it got to be a bit much. Especially with Bryan Adams wailing soulfully about freedom and America in the background.

Barf.

Without the voice–over and the soundtrack, I think the movie would have been way better. The message would still have been conveyed and without all the schmalz.

At least they didn't make the horses talk.

5- Got home only to find LJ acting up. It posted the short version of this entry eight times, then the long version twice, and when I tried to fix it, it erased the long version, which was the one I wanted to keep.

So I got annoyed, left it alone and went to bed. Hopefully it'll work now.
