How did it get to be the middle of July?

Still alive. Been puttering through life reasonably contentedly, though mostly disconnected from the world. Life consists of work, the gym, fandom, and occasional forays outside.
I've been avoiding LJ a little bit (okay, a lot) because I was feeling overwhelmed by the sheer volume of stuff I've missed over the months. I decided that was ridiculous, so I've done some LJ-management on my end, starting with a pretty drastic flist cut. I love all you guys, but it's not like I was reading before (see above). My entries here are 90% public, and since I haven't been posting it's not like you're missing much either.
Anyway, consider this amnesty, too. If you've been thinking about dropping me from your flist and didn't want to deal with the drama, consider it your chance. :)
Last bit of administrative stuff: this is the place to let me know about all the Big Things⢠in your life that I've missed while hiding under the nearest rock. Anything? Anyone? Bueller?

We get the keys on Aug 13th and move the 17th. It will be photographed nigh unto oblivion, both empty and with our stuffs and kitties innit. :)

Date: 2010-07-17 08:44 pm (UTC)- We got the first volume of YAFGC to print and we're selling it now on the website
- I got a fellowship to cover about half of my tuition for the final year of my MA
- Also got my first very own lecture class to teach (not TA) in September
- Bubby's back in the hospital (has been back and forth a few times over the past months, actually) and is scheduled to have her hip surgery re-done on Tuesday because the pin has popped out again
And you can still find me all the usual places if you feel like catching up more fully.

Date: 2010-07-18 02:47 pm (UTC)Congratulations on YAFGC and the fellowship and TEACHING YOUR OWN CLASS! That rocks!
I'm sorry about your Bubby. Hip surgery sucks, especially if it has to be repeated.

Date: 2010-07-17 08:57 pm (UTC)I've been working a lot...and I messed up my ankle, so working a lot isn't exactly the most fun thing in the world. I see a specialist for my ankle next week since it's an achille's tendon and no one wants to touch that with a 10 foot pole.t
I have found the school I want to go to next year, and am working towards getting up the nerve for a visit to make them love me (and the nerve to apply because going back to school when I'll be 30 is a bit intimidating)
I have discovered the show Royal Pains and have fallen in love with it.
I'm going up to the Twin Cities tomorrow to watch the prospects tournament and see the little wild hockey players who hope to make the team, which is like yay. Also, I bought a partial season ticket pack, so I get to see at least 10 games this year :D Hockey makes me happeh.
About it really

Date: 2010-07-20 01:04 pm (UTC)OMG! J and I were beginning to wonder!
The baby is now 3 months old and growing wayyyy too fast.
There is BBQ and lawn furniture and it is being used.
Outside of that, there's been very little of consequence going on, so catching up (outside of missing the pleasure of your company) really is nothing big on our end.
Zombies are slaughtered in droves.

Date: 2010-07-22 10:11 pm (UTC)Love the friendslist amnesty idea.
I've actually given myself amnesty from reading much on the non-LJ sites I read.
In general, I've been posting less and doing more.
