The End of the Day

Took the car to work today, as had RC's game in evening. Turns out I was the victim of a Bad Idea coupled with Very Poor Timing, as a small boy about eight or nine darted out from between two parked cars and practically threw himself under the wheels of my two–ton station wagon. He then ran away, apparently unharmed.
After I ascertained that I had not spontaneously combusted or suffered a debilitating cardio–vascular accident, I proceeded on to work, but was so rattled I took the wrong exit, ended up in Lachine, and had to circle around for a while before finding my way back again.
Eventually, after struggling through traffic, I got to work twenty minutes late, had to sign in my car with the security guard who seemed to think that my brain capacity was something rather below that of a dim–witted amoeba, and thus was completely frazzled.
Oh, and then my supervisor decided today was a good day to listen in on my calls. Well, she's not my direct supervisor, but still. So I get the complicated Call From Hell, in which an agent error basically screwed over —wait for it— twenty–one different cell phone users, and I had to sort out the problem in four and a half minutes. Well, it didn't happen. Of course, they take into consideration the difficulty of the call, so I'm not worried about that. It was just typical of my day.
Am hoping to get good schedule for the rest of the summer. I really want to go out to Bigfoot with the guys and A&A, and I also have two weddings to attend within a week of each other. I want to do all three things, though so far I have only committed to one wedding, namely Poms' cousin's wedding. I just have no idea what my schedule will be like otherwise.
Have at least organised washer & dryer with Firewillow's mum, who must think I'm an amiable but slightly thick nutcase. Am going *shudder* Sunday morning at eight.
It feels weird suddenly having all my evenings free. Well, except Thursday, when it's the Guild Dinner. The WoD game has been temporarily rescheduled for Wednesday to accommodate that. RC still being surprisingly reasonable, though he went a little power–trippy with JB. That was quashed easily enough, though.
'Mu had a headache, which sucked. Poor girl. I think she was feeling better by the time we left.
Came home to find mother watching Star Wars II. She still likes it. I think there's hope for her yet. ;)
Going to La Mexicala Rosa with Poms tomorrow, and we're considering going to see The Scorpion King, which Firewillow informs me is good clean fun. Poms has expressed the desire to do something less serious for once, but balked when I suggested bowling. I guess he didn't want to do anything *quite* that relaxed. He muttered something about bad associations (last time he went bowling with JB he overdid it and couldn't walk straight for three weeks) and we moved on.
Gotta get to bed, I think. This morning was evil!
