It's not quite a Class 3 zombie outbreak, but we have two members of the OCC down for the count, one with a confirmed case of H1N1, the other with a suspected case, and definitely some kind of flu.

Bizarrely, I am still unfussed, although we are quite short-staffed at the moment. I still think this is all being blown way out of proportion to its merits.

In the meantime, the office REEKS of Lysol and is giving me a serious chemical-induced headache.

I agree with the blown-out-of-proportion thing. Awareness should not equal panic. I am still, however, quite irked at the mishandling of the dissemination of information at the municipal level, the confusion, and the ever-changing vaccination schedule here in YUL.

I'm not a Fludoomer, but the pandemic flu-flavoured survivalist loons have been predicting exactly this sort of fumbling for years.

The thing is that when you think of the logistics involved in this sort of campaign, I'd say the authorities are probably doing fairly well. The unrehearsed herding of millions of cats human beings into immunization clinics is bound to suffer from friction.

That being said, as a Max Brooks fan I'm just glad they didn't name the vaccine Phalanx.

Fludoomer! My new word for the day!

I'm high-risk, and they won't shoot me cuz it's pregnant wimmin and little kids first.

Usually, I'm in the first wave, but we're just too short of vaccine at this point.

And usually, they insist on shooting Savant as well because he lives with me and goes to the Germ Factory at least once a week, but not this year.

We've both had our standard seasonal flu shots already, though.

Wow, that is pretty alarming. Hopefully the bad guys are going to be just as weakened by H1N1...

Bad guys don't work in poorly-ventilated offices. :P

Hee!

I toyed with using this one instead, but opted for GRRM.

I thin the GRRM works better. Also less doom-y. (Although not in the context of ASOIAF, of course.)
