Speaking of preparedness

My supervisor has just informed me that I get to come in six hours early for training on being a first responder in case of a chemical, biological, or nuclear event.

Woo.

Apparently I get to be gassed. Fun times. THEN I get to come to work and work my full shift. Even more fun times. :P


I am currently working on something I'm Not Allowed To Discuss, but it's possibly the most boring and frustrating project I've had to work on in a while. Meh.

One suggestion - don't eat too much before you go, and if you do, make sure it's something that won't be completely horrid should it come back up. It's an unpleasant possibility, but at least you can try to minimize how much it sucks. A friend recounted his experience with the gas chamber in Army BCT, which involved second helpings of eggs for breakfast, his having a sinus infection, and being at Ft. Benning, Georgia, in the middle of summer, and it was enough to make me go "damn, it's a good thing I don't like eggs, because that would have just ruined it for me, right there." :-P
