Maybe cleaning out litter boxes has a grounding effect. :P

I'm not feeling quite as disconnected today. Awoke with the beginnings of a migraine (the result of too little sleep, combined with some sort of tension in my shoulders, I suspect) and medicated it into submission. I can feel it lingering on the left-hand side of my head, which is both unusual and annoying.

Spent the last hour and a half puttering around, cleared up stuff for the cleaning lady (I hope she's coming, after all that), and posted some more random snippets of things at Midnight Crossroads. I figured that I really ought to start putting my drips and drabs of writing in the "other" section, and even posted the prologue of my first NaNo novel from several years ago.

I'm slowly (agonizingly slowly) getting back into a writing headspace, too. I've been mulling over some ideas, had a thought about re-writing my first NaNo novel with a supernatural twist to it, although I'm not sure it would work, and am going to try to carve out some time in which to properly edit and revise the zombie novel.

Of course, this new-found grounding is coming exactly two days before I leave for Vermont for the weekend, so I may get another complete disconnect by the time I get back. Sheesh.

In other news, I just realized that I am hungry (the pain meds are kicking in properly now), and so I shall go make breakfast, and maybe wash the dishes too. Oops.

No functional RSS feed? *makes kitten eyes at you*

Oh wait, on the third try it worked. Never mind.

Hee! I suck at all things computer. I'm glad it worked, otherwise I would have had to refer you to my web person, [livejournal.com profile] joane who does magical things with code. :)

You'll let me know if the "extras" appear in the feed? I've been posting older stuff without publishing it to the "front page," so I don't know if it'll show up or not.

I've made a tweak that *should* pick up everything new posted to the news and various writing categories now, as well as the front page. I'll keep an eye on it over the next couple of days and see if it worked!

Alas, you replied as I was editing! It looks like the module created one feed per separate category instead of one big site-wide one. I'll poke more when I'm at home and Jenny's in bed tonight.

OK! My lunch break is just about voer so I have to call it quits for the moment, but the short answer seems to be - there is no easy way to make a feed on the front page that will report every new article on the site. I have found a way to list all the category feeds on the front page, but the feeds themselves remain separate.

There may be a more complicated way to make it go, but I haven't found it yet. So right now you have one feed per updatable page - each writing category, the front page and the news page all have their own separate rss feeds attached. I'll keep poking.

*scurries off to subscribe to all the lovely RSS feeds, yay!*

I *believe* the feed is just for the first page, but I'll check once I get to a computer.

Oooh, have fun in Vermont! Maybe next year we'll be there.

Good on you for all the tidying up, and condolences on your unreliably painful head. :(

I've lost my motivation to clean. Heh!

Yay for coming to visit! Vermont is way closer for me than anywhere else, and given that I'm driving with [livejournal.com profile] fearsclave it means next to no cost for transportation, to boot.

The headache is mostly gone now, I am pleased to say.

I can totally understand not wanting to clean. The bi-weekly presence of Tabitha is my sole motivator, these days. ;)

Nope...still blocked. Now it just says "content: Pornography"
I really want some of what they are smoking

I guess I missed all the juicy stuff when I did browse a bit :)

Blocked from Midnight Crossroads? Is this something from work IT, or at an isp level?

Work :) It's a minor running joke with me.

They have a group of people here assigned to blocking sites and a full committee assigned to unblocking them (when a higher up requests it I guess).

I have no problem with this (some sites SHOULD be blocked and I know for a fact we have morons in this organization who insisted on surfing porn during the day in public view before we had a filter), however, the logic they use is completely beyond me (or indeed earth logic). For the longest time LJ was blocked (adult/mature content) while AskMen.com has never been. They block Flickr, but 4chan was available.

My other main issue is they block any site that has a "video game" meta tag but everyone else can spend the day surfing NFL.com, ESPN, TSN and any fantasy baseball/football/basketball site they want. So they don't block hobby sites...just MY hobbies.
