Random call of the day
Mar. 12th, 2009 05:16 pmMe: "GRC-RCMP Montréal bonjour, good evening!"
Elderly Lady: "Yes, hello. I'm calling for some information."
Me: "Yes, how can I help you?"
EL: "I'm having an argument with a friend. She says Newfoundland is an hour and a half ahead of us, and I say it's two hours. Which is it?"
Me: "Uh, you do realize you're calling the RCMP, right?"
EL: "Yes, I'm sorry to disturb you, but I know you people travel a lot, so I figured you'd know."
Me: "Uh, okay. Well, Newfoundland is one and a half hours ahead of Québec."
EL: *disappointed* "Really?"
Me: "Yes."
EL: "Oh. Well, thank you!"
Me: *headdesk*

Date: 2009-03-12 09:51 pm (UTC)My stock answer is either, "I don't know. You'll find out if/when you get there." Or, "Slippery and snow covered."
People are always so disappointed when they hear that the roads aren't closed. Sorry kids - the county just Doesn't Do That.
