Way to reinforce the notion that women say "no" only because they really mean "yes," and want men to pursue them. Persistence is a virtue, after all, and not at all creepy. If a woman says she doesn't want a relationship with you, then clearly what she really wants is for you to grab her and force her to kiss you —especially if you're her immediate boss. That really doesn't foster any kind of power inequalities, noooo. All it will do is make her melt into your arms and declare her undying love.

Sadly, because your writers SUCK, that last scenario is exactly what happened. You've set back the equality movement by about fifteen years. Congratulations.

Hunnybunny! You surely know that 24 exists solely as a vehicle for right-wing masculinist fantasies to contaminate another generation?

Are you really surprised that it promotes the trope of "force her, she'll like it"??

The s/m aesthetic is what gives 24 its hold on people to whom happy, consensual sex is a) wrong b) boring c) both. Don't look for a normal woman of any orientation having happy, warm, affectionate and honest sex EVAH. To 24, the only woman worth "having" is one who has to be forced.

Don't you remember Mistress Cold Miss Driscoll from that season which joyfully promoted torture, Islamophobia, torture, racism, and oh, did I mention, torture? Including one episode in which some military guy was told that they knew his son didn't know anything about a particular crisis, but "he seems to be holding back" (something presumably irrelevant) and so his dad sternly ordered his son tortured anyway?

The series is all about torture in gloomy rooms. For me, the writing itself rose to the level of near-torture.

And calling an adult woman, or any woman over sixteen, "Miss" is degrading, implying she is a pre-pubescent little girl. AAAGGHHH.

You're right to congratulate them, because they have an agenda and any time they are able to make oppression, subjugation, and discrimination "sexy," they will.

Let me fill your time with the Bloody Jack series by L.A. Meyer instead! You'll be MUCH HAPPIER!

You were expecting significant drama out of television? Ha, ha, ha, ha! You're watching Jack Bauer snuff pr0n (a.k.a. "24") and complaining of bad theme in how the writers have treated one character? Okay, quit kidding like that; my ribs hurt. I don't watch any TV at all and I've heard all sorts of tales about the poisonous premises behind that show. The whole theme and concept of the show is a reflection of the old "ticking time-bomb scenario (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ticking_time_bomb_scenario)," meant to illustrate how "normal" moral and philosophical rules "don't matter" in time-critical, high-stress, emergency scenarios. Half the right wing fascists in America masturbate to this soap opera of xenophobia, collectivism, and other bad premises and you're objecting to a little "non-consensual seduction" between a couple of the characters? This is like reading John Norman's Gor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gor) for its philosophical, sociological, and anthropological insights.

Season 6 is the worst of the lot. I was unable to watch it past episode 4. I've read the wiki summaries and it makes me wince. It's the onlky Season I don't own, and I have no intention of changing that fact.

Having said that, 24 is full of flawed characters, and every flaw is explored. It shouldn't be a surprise that sexual exploitation happens on this show.

I don't know how much you know about Season 7, but it might please you to know that the President is a female and seems to be a pretty capable one so far. Hopefully that tips the balance of the way you see the show again back to you liking it.
