Denial really IS the best medicine!

I am vindicated. I am totally no longer sick. I thought for a moment yesterday that I had contracted my Paternal Unit's Martian Death Plague (I had a wicked sore throat, which is how his started), but I appear to be fine today, from sheer force of will.
My poor father. He was SO sick the last time I saw him, I told him he looked like a corpse. Lest you think I was being unnecessarily mean, I usually have to tell him the harsh realities of life when it comes to his health, because I'm the only one he'll listen to, and he usually ignores me anyway.
Anyway, his version of the MDP involved some nasty-sounding chest/throat thing, and on Friday he developed a terrible case of conjunctivitis. I wasn't there to see the worst of it, but my mother says that both his eyes swelled up and filled with pus, and that his left eye turned purple as though someone had socked him. Even when I saw him on Tuesday night the whites of his eyes were scarlet, both his eyes were seeping tears constantly, and he had purple circles all around them, too. He looked and sounded awful, anyway, and promised that if he wasn't better by today he'd go see his doctor.
The short version of that is that I REALLY don't want whatever it is he has. I have plans that don't involve getting sick.

My poor little Ace tore his eyelid tumor open last night (the size of a smallish pea, and he's too old for surgery, DAMN his former daddy!) and oh, he looked so bad... Cujo-style.
I hope your dad is better by now.
