Wow I slept a lot.

Felt kind of funny all day yesterday. Weird flashes of something between dizziness and nausea. Worse today. Then remembered I'd forgotten to take my pills. Stupid withdrawal effects.

On the plus side I had really interesting dreams. Very vivid.

Somehow of late my dreams have taken on epic proportions. The scenery and architecture is always very grandiose and strange, towering hundreds, even thousands of feet in the air with weird shapes and configurations. It's always incredibly beautiful, though. Very surreal, the way dreams are wont to be, but gorgeous.

Last night was very strange. Think it might have been several dreams melding into each other. At first I was in a small shack at the foot of these huge mountains. The terrain was barren and rocky, with gigantic dead trees littering the landscape, their branches intertwining along the ground and forming barriers along the way.

I remember having to crawl my way through there along with a girl who was slightly younger than I. It seemed very important to keep her safe, although she wasn't entirely cooperative. She couldn't understand why we had to leave, no matter how hard I tried to explain it to her.

The dream shifted at that point, to a more amazonian–like setting. I and a group of people were wading knee–high in a wide and clear river, searching for someone. A child was lost, I think, and I and the child's tribe were frantically beating the waters, hoping that it hadn't strayed too far. The vegetation this time was lush and towered above us, stretching far and away further than the eye could see, and obscuring all but the smallest patches of sky. The sunshine streamed in in small rays, dappling the surface of the water, and if our search hadn't been so frantic, I think my breath would have been taken away by the brilliantly–coloured schools of fish swirling about my legs.

Suddenly I was pulled away by a freezing current into a rocky cave that had been hidden by the underbrush. I found myself on my hands and knees in the frigid water, looking up in time to see the child's mother scoop him up in her arms. I was about to cry out in warning, when suddenly they too vanished, and I couldn't do anything to stop it. I knew that they had been pulled into a cave similar to mine, but that while I was safe, they were in mortal peril, as the inhabitants of the cave were deadly carnivorous shellfish of some kind. Don't ask.

I had to get permission to go rescue the child and his mother. I had to run into a tall building (that just happened to be nearby) and wait in line for authorisation. I knew by then that no matter how we hurried, we'd be too late.

I'm not sure what happened after that. I got woken momentarily by people shouting outside my window. By the time I got back to sleep the dream had changed again.

I was part of a scientific expedition, but we'd been retired for years. We'd gotten wind that one of our members had finally cracked, and the rest of us were sent to talk sense back into our friend. Mostly we just exchanged stories of what had happened to us since we'd parted.

We were talking in a bookstore somewhere, and by now my memories are hazy of the whole thing. We had all been suckered into one last mission, by our charismatic but insane friend, in the hopes of bringing him back to reason. Many of us had tortured pasts. One was responsible for the "death" of his brother. His brother, though, instead of dying when he fell into a river, had become a kind of immortal alligator, thirsting for revenge, though he didn't know that his brother had desperately tried to save him.

Another had had to abandon his wife and child (in Haiti, I think —he was a voodoo practitioner of sorts).

All in all, a really weird dream, and in the midst of it all we were worried that the *other* guy was a homicidal maniac.

*lol*

Anyway, that's about it for the dreams. Will post another update soon on other stuff.
