CNN concurs. Still waiting on a large portion of the precincts (says 25% reporting right now), but it doesn't look good. I will be rather upset if it ends up passing. Prop 4 ("Abortion Limits" - requiring teens to tell parents/guardians and wait 48 hours), at 19% reporting, is at 51/49 against. Those are the only two CNN's reporting on.

But exit polls disagree, saying that it'll fail 52%/48%.

So. Umm. I need sleep. Just need to tell myself I did what I could today, and we'll see if there's more I need to do tomorrow, like walk over to my neighbors with their Yes on 8 signs and crack some kneecaps.

This is the one I'm still waiting for news on too.

Read elsewhere that the State courts would still have the power to stop the proposition even if it passes. Which is some comfort.

I don't want it to get that far.

unfortunately it's winning still. It's too close to project a winner, but all the other ban on gay marriage initiatives passed. :(

Damn. I was really hoping it would fail. I have gay friends in California who are married, and while the Attorney General has supposedly said that their marriages will stay valid, I figure this is *not* going to make their lives any easier. :(

I was hoping it would to. I'm surprised it didn't by a landslide, but I guess the Yes on 8 people had a LOT of money. It's really unfortunate. I'm still rooting for it to fail since it's so close. Some of the states turned for Obama at the last minute, so it could happen.

it's for both sides, but the amounts donated to both sides of prop 8 were reported to be $73 million. It was the most ever spent on a social issue on California.

Still updating, but as of now, it's passing at 52% with 95% reporting.

... feck. Bloody hell.
