"When the moon hits your eye..."

Ice Age was hysterical. I laughed until I cried, and then I cried some more during the sappy parts. Poms was understanding and didn't mock me mercilessly about being such a sappy sop. I even got a hug and a cuddle out of it. Must remember to cry more during sappy parts of movies ?the payoff is great.
Was mildly startled when out of nowhere Poms got frustrated with the ATM that refused to work and smacked it. He never struck me as the type to smack unruly ATMs. Not that they don't deserve it, mind, but he's always been so reserved that that outburst was surprising, to say the least. He then expressed the desire for some plastique and other forms of explosives, so I referred him to Firewillow, who's better equipped to make things go boom! than I am.
We had sushi for dinner on Green Ave. Nice place, to which I've been twice before. Decent sushi, not too expensive. I think the sake helped loosen Poms up a bit too, which was a plus. Fun conversation about a New Zealand comic strip involving a sheepdog and a bulldog bitch in heat. Talk eventually turned to my complaining that the snooty poodles in movies are always called Daphne. Why, I ask, are the cool dogs never named Daphne? It's always the snooty white poodles with ridiculously shaved fur. I'm annoyed about that.
I have to get a picture of Scat, the miscellaneous sabre?toothed squirrel from Ice Age. If I ever get around to getting a paid account here (have the check lying around somewhere, now that I have money I may actually mail it in), I'll probably put a picture up here too. Scat kind of reminds me of me: a misplaced creature clutching onto what it perceives as its only means of survival, getting batted around by life, and managing to look ridiculous in the process without ever realising it. Of course, the irony here would be the self?aware part of the analogy in my case. But it kind of fits.
Besides, Scat is cute, in an ugly way.
Long discussion of Scat turned into discussion of Star Trek, which led us to wonder what would happen if you crossed piranhas with tribbles. Hilarity ensued. Poms bought me a chocolate ice cream cone, thus making me even happier, if that's possible.
Got me a proper goodnight kiss. Have decided that I was totally missing out on a good thing. Heck, if just the kissing is that nice, I figure the rest can't be bad either. At least this time I was expecting it and was able to reciprocate instead of just jumping like a startled hare and blushing like a beet. It was very, very nice. Am still grinning like an idiot. I think I scared the people in the metro on the way back. Don't care. Let 'em be scared.
Did I mention my life rocks right now?

Date: 2002-04-05 08:44 pm (UTC)I'd use a quieter explosive for an ATM actually. *ponder* I mean, preserving the cash is important, 'cause then you can use it to go out and buy MORE explosives. *beams at logic*
Ahem. Talk to you tomorrow, hopefully!

Date: 2002-04-06 07:23 am (UTC)2) Pirhanas and tribbles: entertaining concept. Obtain genetic engineering kit and rabbits instead of tribbles; rabbits are non-fictional and much more mobile. Solve problem of pirhanas not being able to breathe air...
3) The rest of it: indeed quite nice. Hughly recommend it. Am tempted to suggest as follows. Get room. Boink until sore. Cuddle in afterglow. Repeat process until barely able to walk. Cuddle in afterglow until asleep. In morning, have shower. Together. Cuddle in afterglow. Etc...>;)

Date: 2002-04-06 07:33 am (UTC)2- We decided that the cross would be a kind of amphibious creature with fur, fins and fangs. It would also coo and be carnivorous, and reproduce by itself, giving birth to litters of eight to sixteen individuals at a time. Heh heh heh...
3- Sounds nice, but I think we might wait until we've had more than four dates to go on. :)
