The new alarm clock works

My new alarm clock is very, very effective. Not just because it's loud, but because having four cats freak out right on top of your head in the morning is guaranteed to wake you up RIGHT NOW.

I came -><- this close to buying a new wide-up alarm clock yesterday, and didn't only because wind-up alarm clocks don't have a snooze button. But I am going to try to wean myself off the snooze button, so that I can switch to a wind-up alarm that doesn't glow brightly and light up half the bedroom at night - which we never noticed in the city, what with the streetlamp outside the bedroom window, but here where it actually gets properly dark at night, except when there's a full moon...
