Sep. 10th, 2008 04:54 amIt's ohmygod thirty.
There's something infinitely frustrating about being awakened 15 minutes before the alarm goes off. Not the kind of one-eye-cracks-open awakened, but honest-to-goodness awakened. What do you do? You can't just roll over and go back to sleep, but that's 15 minutes of well-earned sleep that just got flushed!
My answer, of course, is to check LJ. But still, all in all, I'd have preferred the sleep.

Date: 2008-09-10 10:08 am (UTC)A baby who wakes up and needs to be comforted an hour before the alarm goes off. And they finally get back to sleep 15 minutes before the alarm goes off. Or worse, they're awake for the day.

Date: 2008-09-10 10:46 am (UTC)But I never, ever claimed to have it worse than my friends who have small children, or suffer from chronic insomnia, or have pain disorders, or whatever.
I was just commenting on the fact that awakening 15 minutes before one's alarm is frustrating.

Date: 2008-09-10 11:09 am (UTC)one thing i started doing a few years ago was to make sure i started going to bed really early (compaired to what i was doing previously anyway)that way i have plenty of time in the morning and i can sleep between 7 and 9 hours and still have plenty of time in the morning to check email catch up on LJ have breakfast and all of that good stuff.
basically what i end up having to do is go to bed shortly after finishing work but really it's not that big of a deal and i can get as much sleep as i need and dont have to listen to an alarm clock.
another bonus if you wake up at OMGWTF:30 you can do your morning stuff and you might have time to get a 15 minute nap before you have to actually head out the door for work. (which is really freaking wonderful let me tell you)

Date: 2008-09-10 02:20 pm (UTC)It used to happen to me pretty frequently. You know, a range of 15 to 5 minutes before the alarm goes off :(
Now I'm very lucky to have a mostly flexible schedule :)
