You made the right decision. I am 100% positive that by now, your bosses know you are the kind of person who doesn't call in sick frivolously like... is it Litigious!Coworker?
Anyway, they provide sick leave for a good reason. Insomnia and migraines are part of that good reason. And I'm sure you'll be much better able to help someone at work some other day when you are feeling better.
