Arrogant!Dude is watching the Family Guy take on Star Wars. I like Star Wars (the original trilogy) and I kind of like Family Guy, but so far it's leaving me cold. A couple of good lines, but that's about it. Actually, that's my general attitude toward Family Guy, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Three more nights, and then I have three days off! Whee! Well, two days and a bit. I leave Wednesday evening for Québec City.

I have a bunch of stuff I really ought to do this weekend. Like wash my floors and do laundry, and actually get some cooking done. I feel as though I've been cleaning forever, but really I haven't done much except the bare minimum all week. I've procrastinated enough on the floors, methinks. The problem is that, naturally, I'll still be on night shift, and thus will be tired and out of sorts and may end up not doing any of it.

I've been doing some basic pricing of furniture and appliances for the new digs, and have come to the conclusion that this move is going to be Very Expensive Indeed. I'm not sure how I'm going to afford that and the trip to Ohio, but I expect I will come up with something. I think that I may be able to buy the appliances outright, and get the furniture on a payment plan. Not optimal, but better than not having furniture. I have also become very spoiled and like having a washer & dryer in the place, and so I'm going to be looking into all the energy star appliances (mail-in rebates are a great incentive!).

I also want to repaint one room (well, more like one wall). I am determined not to end up living out of boxes, either. I haven't decluttered anything recently, but I am giving myself the entire month of July to get the place to a point where I can pack it properly. I might even add on the first week of August, just because. Then I'm going to take the second two weeks in August to pack. The last week in August I'll be in Ohio, so that means I'll end up moving the week after Labour Day. Turns out I'm working that weekend, so I may have to postpone the move by a week, or else find people willing to help me out one evening that week, rewarded by beer and pizza (or something without gluten, depending on who shows up) when we're done. The last time I moved it took about two hours, if memory serves, and this time I'll be moving even closer.

I am very excited about this move, in case no one has noticed. God help me when I actually get a house of my own. Anyway, this is the first time since I moved out of my parents' home that I have a definite idea of what I want my home to look like. I've neglected my current place, because I never had a clear vision of what I wanted, nor did I have the money to furnish it in away I would have liked. Now I have both, and I am full of plans to redecorate. Yes, yes, I know that [livejournal.com profile] ai731 and t! haven't moved out yet. I'm still excited. Redecorating the place in my head has whiled away many a long hour on night shift. :)
