My mother made osso bucco for Easter dinner. 'Twas exceedingly yummy, and I got treated to the usual argument between my parents over whether or not my father should eat the bone marrow. They have this argument every time we have it, and he wins every time and happily consumes said marrow. It's a tradition now.

I have plans and shiny ideas coming out of my ears, and not nearly enough time and energy to devote to all of the happy shiny idea bunnies that are reproducing in my head. Hence the icon.

1- Inspired by [livejournal.com profile] taxlady, I am going to try to go for 21 days without complaining. Don't laugh, I mean it. And no, I'm not going to stop posting to LJ, either. ;)

2- I am slowly but surely setting up a website. I am learning the ins and outs of servers and IPs and FTPs and other Scary-Sounding Internet Things, and soon I shall be turning my attention to Wordpress. I was hoping to have it all up and ready to run by April 1st (the date amused me), but I think a more realistic goal would be to aim for May 1st at this point. I will be using the website to resurrect both my serials, and maybe do some other writing on the side. More as events warrant.

3- Part of me is itching to learn new things that aren't related to my job. Like math. Yeah, you read aright: math. I figure that I may have been brainwashed when I was very young into thinking that I wasn't good at math, and that as a result my less-than-stellar results in the subject were a self-fulfilling prophecy. I'd like to give the whole algebra thing a try, and if that works maybe move on to where I can actually claim to understand high-school-level mathematics.

4- I am jealous of [livejournal.com profile] fearsclave and [livejournal.com profile] diggerlicious's greenhouses. Positively green-eyed, and having to resist the temptation to go out and get one of my own. So pretty, and with the added bonus of tomatoes!

5- I want to go skating. Don't ask me when I'd do it, or even where (is there even a skating rink around here?), and I'd have to buy myself a pair of skates, but I still want to.

6- I have some teeny weeny plot bunnies that think that one day, when they grow up, they might be real novels. No idea if that's going to work out. I still have to edit Crisse, des zombies! and send it out. I still don't have a "proper" title for that book, either. One that publishers won't laugh at. :P

7- I am supposed to be taking a bunch of courses relating to my job soonish. God help me, I found them myself and volunteered, but they look super interesting. I got them approved by the department, and the RCMP is going to cover my tuition, which rocks.

8- [livejournal.com profile] april_drawing is coming up, too. Last year wasn't a huge success for me, but I may soldier on gamely this year and see what I can come up with. Yikes.

That's it for now. I know I promised a post about Halifax, but right now my thoughts are a wee bit too disjointed for that. Bed now.

Boy, when spring fever hits you, it hits you hard.

I'm very impressed with the agenda. You could push a novel off to NaNoWriMo, or do ScriptFrenzy. However, the latter is coming up April 1, and I'm not ready, and it sounds like you won't be, either, what with the website and all.

Roller, or ice?

Hee! I hadn't even thought about it that way, but you're absolutely right: this is spring fever, hardcore.

Writing is one of my priorities right now. I haven't done any proper writing since November, and before that it had been a while too. I am not a screenwriter, though, so I won't be participating in ScriptFrenzy.

You don't have to buy skates--you can rent them at that pretty indoor rink downtown (the name escapes me right now) where we went a few weeks ago.

I'll send you the info when me head clears (if ever). Maybe we could organize a skating party of sorts?

21 days without complaining, eh? What's the fun in that? ;)

1000 de la Gauchetiere, downtown near Place Bonaventure. You can google it for more info. :)

Isn't the skating rink near Bonaventure? And as far as I know you can rent skates there. That was my first thought at least :)

21 days without complaining? I'd explode. I might as well join a monastic order.

Maybe I'll do a month of blessings.

It all sounds awesome. I, too, am of the "making changes" way of thinking at the moment.
