Practice makes perfect

Sometimes I wish I had a practice run at life. Or a do-over button. Or a reset button. Or something.
I haven't been in touch with a lot of people lately. It seems that, no matter how hard I try, I can't be in several places at once. I also can't seem to keep in touch with more than three or four people at the same time. My brain can't encompass more than that. It kind of sucks, though, because I owe a LOT of people phone calls and emails. Gah. Facebook is evil, because it has created a bunch of new(ish) social obligations. I don't have time for the obligations I have, let alone new ones.
Had a wonderful weekend. I went to my first and last Harry Potter launch (I think people took photos), spent Saturday with
tcaptain, and Sunday afternoon playing Mage. I shall post about these in detail later, I think. They deserve an entry of their own.
I have been making a point, lately, of remembering to walk as though John Woo is blowing up a building behind me.
I have lots of story ideas bouncing around in my head, but can't seem to sit down and write them. It's annoying, but with luck the
august_writing challenge will help with that. I haven't forgotten any of the prompts, and I have ideas for many of them, if not all. Some ideas are better-formed than others, but every prompt did what it was meant to do.
I have too many plans, and not enough willpower and energy to put them all into action. I keep oversleeping in the mornings, and not getting to sleep early enough at night. I've been reading a lot, and barely keeping up on LJ, and occasionally playing Dragon Quest VIII, but not as much as I would have thought.
I'm just... drifting, lately. I feel as though I have no anchor at all.
Back to work.

Your entry raises an interesting question

Date: 2007-07-26 12:31 am (UTC)Also, the feeling of having no anchor is not necessarily a bad one. I'm just not sure what to do about it yet.

Date: 2007-07-26 12:43 am (UTC)Also, I hate to be a nag, but we desperately need you to post something (anything! Six sentences!) for SG4 and AS - I'm happy to JP for either if you need motivation/inspiration/a kick in the ass.

Date: 2007-07-26 12:48 am (UTC)I have the dentist tomorrow morning, but I should be free at least early on Friday morning. I am seriously stuck on AS, but I think I can swing something for SG4 tonight. :)
*hugs back*

Hang in there.
If dentist, no lunch, I take it?

I'm lousy at keeping in touch myself, so I completely relate. This is why I really don't want to go near Facebook.
... uh, what?

Date: 2007-07-29 02:38 pm (UTC)It's oddly effective.

Date: 2007-07-31 12:46 am (UTC)Wouldn't it make more sense if it were you who blew up the buildibng behind you?
Actually, here I am trying to inject sense into this. Never mind...
